Technology is improving all the time – that’s true. And portable hi-fi is becoming better and better with every advance. But did you know there’s already a truly portable and truly hi-res player out there? The Colorfly C4 was the first of its kind, and while others have surfaced since, this player has held its own against the younger and skinnier models as providing the absolute premium hi-res sound.
It’s quite something to behold – in both the looks and the sound department. It’s the first portable player that can…
1) Play 24 bit/192 KHz audio files
2) Jitter less than 5 picoseconds
3) Drives 300 ohm headphones
The rather impressive 24bit/ 192kHz is possible thanks to a single in-built DAC – specifically the CIRRUS logic CS4398. This is a high-end chipset usually only found in the highest of the high-end components (that come with the highest of the high-end price tag too). It decodes beautifully – allowing for an unrivalled portable sound. There is more to it than just a particularly good DAC, mind you. Everything about this player has been customised to ensure the high-res sound is exactly that. The internal structure of the C4 is much more complex than traditional MP3 player., just take a look at this diagram to see for yourself…
And suddenly we’re starting to understand why standard MP3 players simply don’t cut the mustard in the sound department!
Best of all – it’s not just the truly superior (and truly high-res) sound that makes the C4 stand out – it’s also packed with features that make it a very practical source. This includes 32GB storage space and the ability to play WAV files, 16/44.1 FLAC, APE and MP3 (just to be on the safe side – but even MP3 files are improved when put through this player). It is easy to load to – simply drag and drop, or even use a Micro SD card!
Curious? We bet you are. If you’d like to see one of these in action then give us a shout. We’ll happily make that happen. Hi-fi is hitting the road, and the Colorfly is leading the way!
