Beyerdynamic Tesla series are high-end stereo headphones designed for sophisticated music enjoyment at wherever you are. Only high-quality materials are used in the Tesla headphones. The housing covers are made from finely brushed lacquered aluminium, the yokes also use brushed aluminium as well, which has been anodised for a perfect finish.
The main contrasting factors in terms of construction is the T5 headphones are closed-back making them perfect for noisier environments where sound rejection is required. On the other hand, the T1 is designed as an open back headphone giving a large, open, wide and natural sound to your music. However, given its open back style it’s more suited to quiet listening environments for maximum comfort and effectiveness.
Beyerdynamic Tesla 1
The T1 in its 3rd generation has yet again raised the bar in audio performance. The T1 features an open back ambient design for the most natural listening. At the heart of the headphones are Tesla’s tilted drivers offering unrivalled richness and spacious sound. Those same drivers offer an amazing frequency range that more than suffices the human hearing range, giving full coverage from 5 to 50,000 Hz allowing the listener to capture every fine detail of the audio.
The sound pressure of the T1 is also very impressive with a ‘Nominal sound pressure level’ of 100db giving all the punch and power you require for your favourite music! To ensure the best possible signal transmission to the headphones, the T1 features detachable cables made of high-purity OCC 7N copper. The main difference between the new 3rd generation and the older 2nd Generation model is that the 2nd Gen is a semi-open back design that attenuates ambient noises without completely muffling them; the 3rd Generation model are true open back nature for an incredible audio reproduction. 
Beyerdynamic Tesla 5
The Beyerdynamic Tesla 5 offer a high-end closed-back design for sophisticated music enjoyment at home. The components of the T5 headphones are made almost exclusively in Germany. In addition to the development and production of the drivers, final headphone assembly is also carried out at the company’s headquarters in Heilbronn where sophisticated technology and the finest materials are brought together with impressive craftsmanship and a passion for detail.
The T5 headphones feature Tesla transducers developed by Beyerdynamic. Individually measured and matched in pairs, they guarantee maximum sound precision and natural reproduction. The special arrangement of the drivers also guarantees precise spatial perception and the music appears in front on centre stage, just like at a concert giving a more in-depth and emotive feel to your listening choice. The new 3rd Generation T5 has evolved from the 2nd Generation model in many ways; the main difference is in impedance from 600 ohms in the 2nd gen model to 32 ohms in the 3rd gen model meaning it can be driven easily by a much wider range of amplifiers.
Both the T1 and T5 come with a hard case for full protection during transportation. The T5 is supplied with a 1.4m cable whereas the T1 comes with a 3m cable as standard when shipped. Both cables are a double-sided, detachable type made from ultra-high-purity OCC7N copper and covered with fabric. In addition both models include high-quality, replaceable ear pads made from protein-coated leatherette with memory foam so can listen for longer periods and experience maximum comfort at all times.
