Being wireless has untold benefits, especially in a home AV set up which is likely to already be lousy with wires. Unless you have the time, the room and the budget necessary to build a cinema room with cables behind walls and ceilings, you’re going to be dealing with a lot of wires a lot of the time. So knowing that there are wireless options out there must be quite the comfort.

… but not at the detriment of the picture quality. Any true AV fan would take an excess of wires over diminished picture quality any day. Luckily for them, there’s a projector that makes both of these things possible.

Epson EH-TW9200W Wireless Full HD 3D Projector

The Epson EH-TW9200W projector proves you can do HD and 3D wirelessly. It works by having a “wireless sender” at the AV receiver end which wirelessly transmits the HDMI signal to the projector. This means you can mount the projector wherever it is needed, and only need a power cable. One less wire to worry about. The transmitter has 5 HDMI inputs which makes it hugely versatile and great for use with not just videos, but video games too.

Wirelessness aside, here are some of the key features:

– Bright output: 2,400lm White and Colour Light Output
– Very deep blacks: 600,000:1 contrast ratio
– High quality images: 3LCD FullHD technology
– Mobile content: MHL connectivity

It’s very easy to set up, with wide lens shift, powerful zoom lens, automatic vertical keystone correction and centred lens. All of that means it’s easy to adjust, which means you can get the picture free from blur or distortion without the headache, no matter where the projector is positioned.

This is the wireless version of the Epson EH-TW9200 projector, the mid-level of this particular run. It carries all of the same features and benefits, without the need for a long HDMI cable between it and the receiver. And, much like its wired sibling, it offers a simply stunning picture, comparible to a projector of twice the price… and twice the wires. Its projections are sharp and clear and the blacks are still some of the deepest blacks you are likely to come across in this price bracket.

As I have said before, we have chosen Epson as our projector brand of choice because of the astonishing picture quality, in particular the deep blacks. As a result of these and the rest of the picture being up to a very high standard, the EH-TW9200W has been very well received by the AV community, picking up rave reviews praising its blacks and brightness, its £D projection and its ease of use, among many other things.

It’s in the mid-range for AV projectors, offering a much, much better picture than the entry-level EH-TW7200, whilst remaining half the price of the flagship laser EH-LS10000 laser projector which we have already written about here.
