A projector is the finishing touch for any bonefide home cinema set up. As the people responsible for capturing the images in the first instance improve their technology, the projectors that deliver those images to our eyes catch up shortly thereafter. Epson, as always, stand on the cutting edge of this particular industry, making the latest advancements commercially available.
Case and point:
,
The Epson EH-TW9300W 4K-Enhancement Wireless FHD LCD Projector is the latest version of what was an absolutely superb projector, the EH-TW9200W (which we already covered at the time it was current in this blog). It sits between the the EH-TW7300 and EH-TW9300 (the flagship of the range) models, with the significant bonus of added WiFi connectivity.
This is a projector which truly aims to cover all bases in terms of both quality and functionality. A key ingredient is the 4K-enhanced technology, which collectively offers Full HD, UHD BD and HDR support. The lamp is reported to have a working life of seven years without dimming, meaning maintenance is significantly reduced.
Combine its high-end design this with its ease of use and super-precise placement (it features motorised optics including a powered 2.1x optical zoom, powered focus and a powered lens shift of ±96.3% vertical and ±47.1% horizontal – quite the range, so we’re told!) and you have a projector that’s ready to take on even the most complex of viewing experiences. You can store up to ten favourite formats, so you always have the right aspect ratio depending on what it is you’re watching, and who it is you’re watching with.
But perhaps the most jaw-dropping feature of this already feature-dense projector is its WiFi connectivity (and no, I’m not talking about the fact that it’s wireless here… although it is also wireless). No, this projector’s wireless connectivity enables you to literally stream content (up to 4K resolution) to your projector from any device. That’s everything from your BluRay player, all the way through to your smartphone, with no compromise on picture quality.
Speaking of the picture: much like its predecessor the Epson EH-TW9300W wins in terms of its ability to project the deepest blacks. This is possible due to its high (exceptionally high!) contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. But that’s not all. The whites and colours also benefit from an (also exceptionally high) white and colour light output of 2,500. It’s a verfiable feast for the senses, owed to Epson’s 3LCD technology, with other features taking it over the line from a good projector, to something you’d expect to spend a great deal more money on: frame interpolation and Detail Enhancement. The results are sharp, smooth and detailed and as close to the real thing as you can expect to get from light alone.
Epson are the only projector-brand we stock (you can view the whole range here) for a reason: we value their deep blacks and rich colour contrasts above any other. And with their new 4K enhancement technology, there is very little to lose.
