Yes, it’s February already. And February is the month of love! Love for your romantic partner, love for pancakes (well, we love pancakes!) and… love for your hi-fi! Yeah, we’re sure you love your hi-fi all year round, but you often do you actually show it how much you care?

Well, now the madness of Christmas (and the relative misery of January!) is over, there is no better time to take stock of what real life has to offer. If your music and your system are important to you, there is no better way of improving that system than by upgrading your speakers. Why? Well, they’e big, they’re beautiful and they make a statement. That’s what declarations of love are all about!

… and yes, we have a few recommendations.

There are going to be two lovely categories within this piece…

The beautiful bookshelves, and…

The fabulous floorstanders!

We gathered our staff members together and asked them to give us their top picks, and this list is the collated result. In order of price, here are the speakers which would rock your world if you’d just take a chance on them.

We’ll start with the bookshelves. Prepare to fall in love with…

Bookshelf Speakers

1. Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 in  Rosewood – £138.95 or Black – £129.95

2. Wharfedale Diamond 225 – £249.95

3. Wharfedale Jade 1 – £379

Did we mention how much we loved Wharfedale? I think we may have done, once or twice. Incredibly reasonable, yet with a distinctly high-end look (and sound), we really can’t get enough of them… and probably won’t stop talking about them either. Especially not at those prices!

4. Dali Opticon 1 – £499

5. KEF LS50 – £799

KEF-LS50-5er-Pack-1030x467

… available in five glorious finishes! Which one do you love the most? (I like the red.)

6. ProAc Studio 118 – £1075

7. ProAc Response DB1 – £1900

rdb15

Yeah, we’re a little bit in love with ProAc too. The perfect mid-range accompaniment to pretty much every brand under the sun! We’ve yet to experience a bad match with ProAc. So good, you wouldn’t even have to demo them!

9. KEF The Reference 1 – £4499

10. Focal Sopra No1 – £6599

Yeah, they are pricey. But to say they’re worth it would be a serious understatement.

And now, onto the big boys.

Floorstanding Speakers

1. Acoustic Energy AE 103 – £299

2. Q Acoustics 3050 – £449

3. KEF Q500 – £699

4. Dali Zensor – £729

Are you in love? Well, we’re right behind you. But don’t get committed just yet, we have a few more to show you…

5. Tannoy Revolution XT 6F – £999

6. KEF R500 – £1499

7. ProAc Studio 148 – £1690

Studio-148

And back to the ProAc! If you think the bookshelves sounded good, you wait until you witness their larger counterparts.

8. Focal Aria 926 – £1899

9. ProAc Response D20R – £2800

and finally…

10. KEF 203/2 – £3299 – £3799

203-2-8x8

Yep. There are still a few pairs kicking around. Three, in fact! These beauties still hold their own famously, and their clearance discount of 45% makes them even more tempting.

If this little list hasn’t fully satisfied you, we do sell many other floorstanding speakers over £4000 (reaching all the way up to the £20,000 KEF Blade!) – so if you’re in the market to spend more than £4000, contact us for advice. And yes, we can fully demonstrate all of the above, and more in our very comfortable showroom

There’s 0% finance available (subject to status) on orders over £500 (6 months), £1000 (12 months), £2500 (24 months), £5000 (36 months), so upgrading is now easier than ever before! We also allow for part exchanges, dependant on the condition of your existing speakers. If you’re an existing customer, there are home trials and loans available.

We want to make upgrading a labour of love, so get in touch if we’ve caught your fancy.
