The Geneva AeroSphère series is a strikingly visual music system comprising gorgeous wireless speakers in two sizes plus the AeroSphère Base: a multi-functional WiFi transmitter.
The power of AeroSphère’s innovative design is matched by its multi-source Wi-Fi capability. Support for AirPlay, DLNA and high quality apt-X Bluetooth streaming means that music from every tablet or smartphone can benefit from the AeroSphère series’ high quality sonic performance. The compact AeroSphère Base adds more traditional music sources, such as FM, DAB+ radio, CD and a line input, between rooms and up to as many as four AeroSphère speakers.
The past week has seen a new software version be made available for automatic download as well as a new version of the AeroSphère app. When installed the latest versions add the following new features and functions:
Spotify Connect – Both the Large and Small speakers now support “Spotify Connect”. Audio is streamed directly from the Spotify servers to the speaker rather than via the phone or tablet, freeing up the device for other functions such as email or voice calls. The phone or tablet acts only as a controller rather than a relay for the Spotify stream. This also improves battery consumption of the device and makes for a more robust Wi-Fi reception.
Power Up from App – The speakers can now be powered ON and OFF from the App as well as via the remote handset. Selecting an AeroSphère speaker from within Spotify or Airplay will also power it on.
AeroSphère Large Room Position Presets – This feature optimises the Large speaker’s DSP dependent on room position. In the settings menu of the app you can now choose from freestanding, close to a rear wall, or in a corner. These are suggested presets which the user can override by adjusting the tone controls to their own preference.
Fast Start – The speakers will now go from power on to playing audio in just 5 seconds.
