Bluetooth speakers are a pretty must have item these days, and not just for the hi-fi crowd! Working in the industry we do, we can spot a trend a mile away, and Bluetooth speakers are destined to stick around for a very long time. A favourite amongst students, professionals, lifestyle-musos and audiophiles alike, this is a handy gadget which has displayed tremendous staying power, and is only getting better as time goes on (and technology improves!) The arrival of Bluetooth AptX (lossless Bluetooth) has meant that these speakers can now hold their own, even in the high-fidelity crowd. Quite frankly, we can’t get enough!

But which are the best of the bunch, in the Bluetooth Active Speaker genre? We’ve compiled a list of some of our favourites, based on what we know, and what you guys have told us too!

So, without further ado, let’s start with the cheapest and move our way up…

Yamaha_NX-B55

We’re a little bit biased towards the Yamaha NX-B55. We like it so much, we use them ourselves in the customer service and marketing office. In fact, we’ve use them ever since we had them in stock – that’s how much they have impressed us over the years. Nothing has quite gotten around to replacing them! These are the Bluetooth version of another firm favourite of ours, the NX5os.  Much like their smaller sibling, they’re tiny, but powerful. And their Bluetooth capability is fantastic! At £119, they’re a bargain. And trust us, they will give you years of reliable, high quality and loud sound, no matter what the space. Particularly perfect for your PC…

kef-egg

The new blue on the block! The cool and quirky KEF Egg is a wireless digital music system that allows streaming from both your device and from your PC/NAS drive wirelessly, which makes its a pretty neat all-in-one system. Best of all, it’s made by KEF… and sounds like it’s made by KEF. Ultra clear, ultra concise and ultra clean. In three contemporary finishes, these things are cooler than cool, and perfectly suited to the market. They’re brand new too, so you could be among the first to have one of your own!

Last but by no means least…

AktiMate_Blue_Black_Gloss

These guys have been around for a while now, but they have yet to lose even a gran of significance. The  AktiMate Blue  are compact speakers which offer a huge sound, suitable for both music AND movies! And thanks to a wide range of inputs and connection options (and a high quality DAC), this is the only sound system you will need for all your devices. And at 60W, it’s pretty powerful too! Big, clear, rich sound, versatility and that all important lossless streaming makes these a continued favourite, and we can’t get enough.

I you’re interested into trying out an activated Bluetooth speaker for yourself, then give us a shout! It’s easy to show you how, and we have plenty for you to demo too. You will be surprised how good things can sound without wires, snd things are only getting better.
