In the present day not only are projector screens used for corporate and educational presentations, they are commonly used as a fun form of entertainment to consume films, games and other visual content on. As AV technology has advanced, so has the quality of the projection screens, and Grandview’s screens are some of the best screens on the market for achieving the brightest and most vibrant picture quality.
Grandview History
Grandview is a Canadian company who specialise in creating high-end projection screens for both professional and consumer markets. Since their establishment in 1999, the brand has been associated with premium products at affordable price and have since then built a respected reputation in the projector screen industry. As an ever-growing company, and with innovation and research at the forefront of their releases, Grandview have been able to develop some of the most advanced projection screens you can get.
The Cyber Series which consists of tab tensioned, fixed screens, motorised, manual and even in-ceiling projection screens is designed to match the screen quality to the Ultra-HD projector’s used for the ultimate home cinema experience. More recently, they launched the Dynamique screen with innovative Ambient Light Rejecting technology. Their groundbreaking designs are the expression of the brand’s proud pursuit in offering the best possible performance for home cinema applications.
Why choose a high-end projector screen?
Often a projector may be appealing to some as they think they can just project the image on to a blank wall and enjoy quality. However, this isn’t the case, as good projector screen is essential for getting the best image quality and far more superior to a blank wall. Why is this? First of all, the texture of walls and the microscopic bumps not usually visible unless up close will cause tiny shadows when the picture is projected, and when you consider this will be the case over the entire wall, the result can be a loss of crispness and brightness, especially with 4k images.
Unlike a blank wall, projector screens are specially designed with a coating to ensure light projects optimally back towards the viewer. This means the light and colour of the images are far more defined and focused. Also unlike some of the low-end projection screens, a good projector screen will be designed to reject natural light, and even ambient light, which is something a white wall simply cannot do.
If you’re invested in a projector, then you may as well maximise the potential of the picture quality with a good projector screen. It’s an investment we think is completely worth it, and Grandview’s screens will make your home cinema watching pop like never before.
Cyber Series
Grandview have a range of different 16:9 screens within their Cyber range, as well as differing sizes. All of their screens feature a superior projection screen surface which unlike many poorly made screens it doesn’t crease and enables high-contrast picture quality. The Cyber range provides for a range of viewing requirements, including manually operated screens which you pull down by hand and can be neatly tucked back up and fixed screens which fit onto the wall and stay there, which is ideal if you have a dedicated home cinema room.
Another type of screen, and the most popular is the motorised projection screen which is an electric screen that be controlled via a remote control and can come down/go up when desired to use. These motorised screens come in a long box that is winded up in when not in use, but is still visible on the top of the wall. Grandview have paid special attention to ensure these boxes are as discreet and easy to live with as possible.
Alternatively, Grandview’s in-ceiling models are the ultimate low profile screen and ideal for discreet installation. This type of screen fits into the ceiling in-between your joists so it is hidden when not in use. Perfect if you like keeping your interiors neat and tidy. Both the electric and in ceiling screens come in either a standard or acoustically transparent “tab tensioned” versions. This means you can put speakers directly behind the screen and still enjoy the same audio quality.
Dynamique ALR Screen
Grandview’s newest entry is the Dynamique ALR screen with ambient light rejecting technology. This screen is specifically designed to give a vibrant picture even when the lights are on in the room or the curtains open which can normally cause the picture to look washed out. This is a revelation in many ways as projectors and projector screens usually require dark rooms to give best picture quality. It also reflects directly at the audience rather than around the room so you can always be in direct line for the brightest picture.
