Optoma CinemaX P2 Keys features
The HDR10 compatibility ensures the Optoma Cinemax P2 renders vivid 4K UHD content. Optoma HDR tone mapping along with dynamic contrast presents an optimised image with brighter whites, deeper black levels and realistic colours that jump off the screen for an immersive visual experience. The CinemaX P2’s space-saving and ultra-short-throw design provide a convenient placement for a large cinema screen experience.
The P2 also features a Dolby Digital 2.0 soundbar with two full-range speakers, two woofers, ported chambers and 40-watts of power delivering crisp details. The whole P2 system is super easy to configure and set up. For example, alignment is made easy by the SmartFIT app whereby easy alignment is achieved in a matter of minutes.
Optoma CinemaX P2 allows for easy daytime and lights-on viewing with an ambient light rejection (ALR) screen. ALR screens feature unique triangle microstructures on the screen surface that block reflections for vivid colours and incredible details at any time of the day. The P2 features a gaming mode that reduces input lag.
It does so by bypassing the image processing and motion compensation engine so that the CinemaX P2 can provide a pure, direct path from the video source to the projection screen for more responsive gameplay. The P2 works on a practicality level with a large range of connectivity options including hardwire options – 2x HDMI 2.0 (HDCP 2.2/HDMI CEC & ARC compatible), 1x HDMI 1.4a (HDCP 1.4), 2x USB 2.0 (rear, for 4K USB media player) and USB power.
Digital connection and streaming is also a big part of the P2 having Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant & IFTTT compatibility with the projector itself running a Android 8.0 with the customisable launcher.
Optoma CinemaX P2 vs P1
The P2 uses a 6 segment RGBRGB colour wheel whereas the original CinemaX P1 model used an RGBYRGBY 8 segment colour wheel. They both have an identical image size of 85″ to 120″ which in itself is very impressive. The P1 is designed for tabletop projection style whereas the P2 is set up to work in a front, rear, ceiling mount and tabletop design.
UHZ65 UST
P2 brings the best-selling UHZ65 UST technology to a more accessible price point. Physically the main difference is the colour; white instead of black. It differs from the larger UHZ65 UST in a few ways, mainly the output power (brightness) of the UHZ65 UST is higher at 5,000 lumens whereas the P2 is 3,000 lumens.
The UHZ65 also has a 4 Segment RYGB colour wheel whereas the P2 has a more diverse 6 segment wheel. The Dolby Digital 2.0 soundbar built into the P2 is also driven by 40W dispersed across the 2 speakers and 2 subwoofers whereas the soundbar in the UHZ65 UST model is also powered by 10W per channel but features only 2 speakers.
