New year, new you? Nah. New year, new hi-fi! It’s 2016 and there are already plenty of gorgeous new bits and pieces for you to spoil yourself with. Start as you mean to go forward, and get the latest audio and hi-fi products before anyone else!
Don’t worry, we’ve done the hard work for you. There are lots of new products in the pipeline that we’ve heard about for 2016, but these are the 5 we’re most excited about.
Let’s start with…
They’re here! If you didn’t think it got much better than the original HD800, I can’t wait for you to try out their latest incarnation. The HD800 have ruled the roost for a very long time without a successor, but there’s finally an upgrade. This is the HD800S. The long awaited, upgraded version of a pair of headphones that didn’t need an upgrade until the time was right. These weren’t due until February, but we were pleasantly surprised to receive our first stocks just before the end of 2015 (an early Christmas present!)! If you’re feeling particularly savvy, there’s an amazing matching amp available too.

2. HiFi Man Edition X Planar Magnetic Headphones
It looks like 2016 may well be the year of the headphone! HiFi Man joined the Audio Affair family in 2015, and have wowed us ever since with their seriously high-end cans. This new pair sits happily between the HE560 and HE1000 models (check out the full range here). This is the model that we’ve already started demming against new Sennheiser HD800S (see above!) along with the Oppo PM-1. If you liked the sound of any of that, you’ll love the sound of these.

3. Sennheiser Momentum – FULL STOCK!
The latest models in Sennheiser Momentum range were announced late last year, but stocks on some models were very hard to come by right up until end of 2015. This is often the case with any new and hotly anticipated range of something as cool and contemporary as the Momentum! The range was so popular we would sell out faster than we could restock, the over ear wireless headphones and the earphones proving to be the most popular of the lot!Well, now we have full stocks. So, if you missed out last year, now is the time. There’s plenty more coming to the Momentum range in the coming months, such as a silver version of the on ear headphones and a white version of the earphones. We expect these will probably sell out pretty quickly too…
4. Arcam MusicBoost iPhone Headphone Amplifier + DAC
One of the most exciting products we have come across in a very long time – for all sorts of reasons! tThe MusicBoost technically came out at the end of 2015, but stocks have only just arrived (our pre-orders will be getting them soon!). These clever and innovative devices work as an amazing portable headphone amp (and DAC) dressed as a case for your iPhone 6 – and it will help preserve your battery too. Win win! Relatively low priced, but with an amazing, solid yet lightweight design. It really works!

5. Sennheiser Orpheus System
We haven’t got it yet, but you’ll be the first to know when we do. The very first new Orpheus system since the original one was released in the early 1990s for £10,000. It was amazing. The new new Orpheus system will cost around €50,000 (UK price to be confirmed), so you know it’s going to be pretty special. We can’t wait to have a proper listen to this system and if the early listening sessions are anything to go by, this could well be the best headphones system in the world. And yes, we’ll be stocking and demming it. Hurry up Sennheiser!
