It’s fun being a member of the Audio Affair team. We get to indulge in our passion for sound on a daily basis, we see the new products hot from their manufacturers’ lines and we’re privy to some pretty exciting exclusives and deals before they’re announced – and they always cause a stir when they are! We always offer the best possible prices anyway, but whenever we can we’ll offer a great money saving deal. Sometimes this involves buying all the available stock and passing the bulk savings directly on to you and sometimes this means working directly with the supplier to make either a product completely exclusive, or the offer exclusive. We have plenty of examples of these, but here are our absolute favoruites. Products that we loved so much we just had to share them with the world, be that through a deal or through complete exclusivity. Either way, you are getting a very good deal.
So, without further ado, here are our five favourites from our exclusive batch. Here be bargains! Remember, the prices were correct at the time of publishing and may be subject to change.
1. Yamaha NX-50 Desktop Speakers AA Exclusive |RRP – £99.95 | Our Price – £49.90
The Yamaha NX-50s are a firm favourite of ours – and probably always will be! In fact many of us at AA have a pair of these tiny little speakers at home! They boast a teeny-tiny footprint (perfect for your PC desk – for which they are designed for) but an incredibly big sound, all owed to a unique cabinet design which prevents sound loss and a bass port in the front which helps push the deeper tones forward – eliminating the problems that speakers of this size usually cause. Perfect for your PC, TV, MP3 player and even your phone – the two mini jacks on the front panel means that you can hook up two devices at any one time. The built-in amp means you can control the volume from the speaker itself and auto-standby allows for less button-pushing and more easy listening. There are five funky colours to chose from too!
Why do we like them?
The sound easily surpasses every PC speaker we’ve tested them against – even much larger ones! They were fantastic value at RRP, we decided to make them suitable for even the smallest budget by exclusively knocking a massive 50% off. Ideal for use with Mac, PC, smartphone, and even your TV as these little monsters sound much better than the speakers in most flatscreens! As you can imagine our stock is already selling fast and this deal won’t last forever – order your’s now!
2. Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 Speakers (Blackwood) AA Exclusive | RRP – £199.95 | Our Price – £129.95
The beautiful Diamond 10.1s were vastly popular upon release. They scooped several awards and Wharfedale ran out of stock months ago, but we loved (and missed!) them so much they kindly made us some more. As a result, we have the last of the new ones left in the UK – in stunning Blackwood, the most popular finish – and to celebrate we slashed a massive 35% off the RRP! They need very little introduction, these speakers are as well known as Wharfedale themselves – and you’d be hard pressed to find anything that both looks and sounds as good as these beautiful speakers at this price, even before our discount. But remember, we have the last of them. And when they’re gone, they’re gone!
Why do we like them?
For enough reasons that we asked for more, and we’re very glad that Wharfedale kindly obliged! If we could sell them forever we would, but their continued popularity means we’re down to our last. If you want to snap up one of the last brand new Diamond 10.1s in the UK order your’s now.
Why do they like them?
‘On the whole, the 10.1s are versatile enough to do justice to a wide variety of music, and they’re relatively unfussy about positioning, too.’ (What Hi-Fi? Magazine)
3. MJ Acoustics Pro 50 MkII Subwoofer AA Exclusive | RRP – £499.95 | Our Price – £299.95
This incredible mini sub blew us away from the very first day, so much so we actually preferred this over its successor the Pro 50 MkIII – which in itself is a stunning speaker. But we missed the MkII – so MJ Acustics built us a few more. And with the last new units firmly under our belts we knocked over £200 off the RRP, making it truly irresistible. The MkII a pretty small sub, but it won’t fade into the background. Nope – this unit is loud and proud and knows exactly what it is – and what it wants to be. It features twin crossovers,120watts of power, a newly designed 10” driver packed into a teeny cabinet size of just 280mm square. Designed to integrate nicely with any existing system easily, this little woofer won’t be easily forgotten.
Why do we like it?
There’s a reason we snapped up the last of them. There’s something very special and unique about them – in both the sound and the styling. They are not your standard subwoofer, and we know they won’t last very long. In fact, we’re down to our very last. Order your’s here!
Why do they like it?
‘If you’re on a budget go for the MJ Acoustics, it sounds excellent for such a small sub, and its definitely the budget all-round choice in this test’ (What Hi-Fi? Magazine)
4. Yamaha EPH100 Earphones AA Exclusive | Our Price – £79.90
The EPH100s from our friends Yamaha are a very special item. Not only are they exclusive to us now, but they always have been. Our favourite in-ear headphones are hugely popular with our customers – in fact they’re our best selling earphones to date. Why? Well, it’s all about the sound of course. It’s quite masterful. Their pure sound is the result of a new-concept 6mm (1/4”) diameter super-compact driver, a sound which continues to impress audiophiles and critics alike, time and time again. They will stay where they are and deliver perfect sound, in the gym or on the road, and help you rediscover your favourite music.
Why do we like them?
They are one of our favourite items. Ever. So much so we made them the ultimate Audio Affair exclusive. Some of us even prefer their incredible, clear and resonating sound to the award winning Sennheiser IE800s, which retail at £599! Do you need a higher recommendation? No? Then order yours’ here.
Why do they like them?
’Bottom line: The Yamaha EPH-100 are the steal of the decade in affordable high-performance personal audio. Were it not for Yamaha’s suggestion that we give them a shot, we could have missed out on these closeted overachievers entirely, and that would have been a shame.’ (Digital Trends)
5. Lehmann Audio Traveller Headphone Amplifier AA Exclusive | Our Price – £399.95
A brand new addition to our family of exclusives – the critically acclaimed Lehmann Audio Traveller is Lehmann’s first portable headphone amplifier, and when we first heard it we knew it had to join us as an exclusive So, after much begging and pleading, Lehmann agreed to let us be the official and exclusive UK retailer. Its proven to be beneficial, some glowing reviews from industry experts have meant that our first delivery have already sold out, and we had only just received them! But don’t worry, there are plenty more where they came from. Why is Traveller so popular? It’s tiny, it’s light and it’s ability to improve sound – from any device – is truly phenomenal. It makes sound clear, balanced and focused, with plenty of bite. There’s a reason we wanted them for ourselves – they give some very expensive competition a run for its money in terms of sound quality, and we suspect it will be at the forefront for some time to come.
Why do we like it?
To say we were delighted when we were approved as the exclusive UK retailer is an understatement. This tiny little device far exceeds its price tag in terms of the quality it provides, and everyone lucky enough to hear one – even with a smartphone or portable mp3 player – agrees. Curious? Order your’s here.
Why do they like it?
‘Sound-wise the Traveller performs very well and is a clear step up from some of the less expensive portable headphone amps I’ve tried, with an ability to give the perception of there being much more going on in the music. The Traveller’s strong points are the drive it gives to music and the detail of a recording it manages to bring out.’ (HifiPig)
