The vast majority of bluetooth speakers come in either bookshelf or single speaker form. In fact, I’m currently hard pressed to think of any that don’t come in that form. But there are exceptions, most notably the emergence of Bluetooth floorstanders. Such as these.
The Tibo Nexus 400 Bluetooth Tower Speakers are somewhat strange and striking beasts, on many levels. Their elegant and sophisticated design houses rather elegant and sophisticated technology. They’re completely active, which means they have an integrated amplifier built in. With no separate amplifier required, this makes these speakers ideal for discreet placement in and around smaller, cleaner spaces.
Design-wise, their slimline cabinet comes in piano black with aluminium detailing. Beneath the hood, they are designed to be powerful, with a built in subwoofer and 400W total output power. They are also completely NFC compatible, another usual design-quirk that will certainly appeal to techies.
Convenience and discreet placement seems to be the key with the Tibo Nexus 400. The inclusion of Bluetooth 4.0 with the AptX codec not only allows for wireless streaming from compatible devices but also enables the speakers themselves to communicate between each other, meaning the only cable you will ever need is the power. However, if you would like to place the Nexus either side of a wall/cabinet mounted flat screen TV (something the shape and the lack of wires lends itself very nicely to) you can connect via the supplied optical cable.
