What’s in the box?
The Wharfedale DX-2 5.1 package contains all the speakers you need to get started with a compact, high-performance Dolby 5.1 Surround set-up. Four, passive satellite speakers are included, as well as a passive centre channel speaker and a powered subwoofer.
Available in a choice of gloss white or gloss black finishes, the speakers are stylishly neutral, and, coupled to their compact size, will blend effortlessly with the decor of most modern homes.
The satellite speakers included with the Wharfedale DX-2 5.1 package are highly compact, infinite baffle type enclosures, barely larger than a paperback novel in height. A genuine two-way unit with a 20mm silk dome tweeter, the satellites are miniature marvels.
The all-important centre, dialogue channel speaker, uses two of the 75mm drivers of the satellite speakers, with the same, 20mm silk dome tweeter and an aperiodic type enclosure. No surround package, of course, would be complete without a subwoofer…
Wharfedale bundle the DX-2 5.1 package with the compact yet effective WH-D8 Subwoofer. The WH-D8 subwoofer is an active design, featuring a 70w amplifier with an ‘auto-power’ facility, automatically switching in or out of standby when a signal is sensed.
The WH-D8 active subwoofer features a 20cm long-throw bass driver for fast, deep and well-defined sound. Designed to integrate perfectly with the rest of the Wharfedale DX-2 5.1 package, it rounds off this well-designed sextet of speakers.
