So England are out of the world cup, if this has left a bitter taste in your mouth then why not have BBQ, even better still a BBQ with your favourite music as a soundtrack. This said we have all felt the embarrassment of not having a sound system adequate enough to cut through the sizzling sausages and (possibly drunken!) banter. Let this not be a problem any longer, we have a collection of such products no doubt to improve your post England world cup while Stevie G complies to Ryan Air size restrictions on hand luggage! This man may have the “Uber” Barbie but he needs a Portable music device!
There is a couple of options to begin with, portable or not, or both. Smaller portable devices often offer Bluetooth connectivity in a small and easy to carry package – such as the Yamaha NX-P100
Yamaha NX-P100 Portable Bluetooth Wireless Speaker
Built like a tank and rechargeable the NX-P100 will wirelessly replay all you soulful summer tracks with ease and given its size at a pretty good volume level, ideal for by the pool (I wish!) Or for quieter moments sunbathing enjoying your favorite deep house – while bathing in the glorious Vitamin D, Ideal for smaller parties!
If you are looking for something with a little more Oomph then bigger drivers are needed, I recently used the KEF X300A (not quite so portable) to great results at a quite substantial party – they have great control and power handling due to the driver composition.
The World Cup only comes around every four years, so I imagine like me you are still going to continue watching, one thing that is constant bugbear about new TV’s is the sound. Traditionally in order to improve your AV experience meant going down the 5.1 route, separate speakers working in unity to deal up an engaging experience. There are problems with this though, chief among them from speaking to you guys out there is size and cables running everywhere – also if you new TV sounds awful you may not 5.1 – the dulcet tones of Deidre Barlow would be pointless on a full AV setup – something in between was needed, cue Soundbars
Yamaha YSP-2200 Sound Projector
I will not bore you with endless specs, plain and simple this can bring the enjoyment back into watching your TV – by ensuring the inclusion of the subwoofer a whole spectrum of different material can be played back faithfully, the price is none to shabby either £599.00 with free UK shipping, it is our best selling soundbar of the summer season!
Another great use for a Soundbar is for music reproduction, fresh in store is the new Q Acoustics Media 4 M4 Soundbar. It does not have HDMI like some of the Yamaha’s (dedicated for use with Blu-ray players, PlayStation etc) it comes with digital input and analogue input (yes, you can still plug your TV in via optical!!) they are geared more to improving TV sound for general listening but excel at music playback also. Like the smaller speakers we spoke about Bluetooth is included, the Q4 features AptX, the new improved Audiophile Bluetooth codec!
The M4, offering blinding bass performance and AV diligence in equal measure!
So there you have it! We may well be out of the world cup but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy yourself this summer! Just do not forget the three magic ingredients, BBQ, good music and cracking system to play it back on! As always happy listening and please do not hesitate give a member of our team a call if you have any questions!
Have great rest of the World Cup from all at Audio Affair!
