No, it’s not cheap. But it is incredible, on pretty much every level. And, quite frankly, pure analogue sound isn’t something that should be skimped upon! If you’re serious enough to want to take the steps necessary to acquire pure analogue sound, you don’t want to cut any corners.

The Pro-ject Xtension 10 leaves the corners as sharp and defined as possible. Incorporating 20 years of Pro-Ject’s keen analogue speciality. Pro-Ject are regaled for their ability to build quality ‘budget’ decks (their low-end models pretty much the only ‘budget’ models we will ever recommend!), but that is due to them understanding the high-end market in a way that so few brands fully do. It’s a compact and aesthetically pleasing model, designed to fit snugly in a small rack, without too much fuss.

But what of the stats? Well..

– Super-heavy 22 kg belt drive turntable
– Mass-loaded magnetic-floating subchassis
– Precision balanced sandwich-platter
– Inverted ceramic ball bearing with magnetic support
– Heavy weight record clamp
– Extremely low level of natural resonance
– Perfect decoupling through magnetic feet
– Electronic speed control 33 / 45 / 78 rpm
– Tonearm 10cc Evolution made from carbon fibre
– Inverted tonearm bearings (ABEC 7 quality)

It’s heavy in all the right places, and delicate in all the others. It’s traditional where it counts, and innovative when it matters. The result is a clear, rich and luxurious signal reproduction that, coupled with the right phono stage (it’s extremely important to get that right when you get this high-up, give us a shout if you need a recommendation!) will make for something truly special. Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s worth every penny… and several more.

Got any questions? Give us a shout! It’s a model we’re very experienced with, and can fill  in all the blanks.
