Product Description
The Atacama Elite Eco 24 Reference hi-fi stand is a modular support system for high-end Hi-Fi components. The stands are made of bamboo and feature Atacama's Three-Dimensional Advanced Vectored Resonance Deflection Channels (or 3D-A.V.R.D.C. for short!). The system comprises a 70mm high base plate on which can sit three different height shelf units.
These can be either 170mm, 220mm, or 270mm high. There are also two colour options of dark or light bamboo. Each module can support up to 80 kg. The shelf units are kept apart by spikes that isolate each component, preventing mutual interference. Moreover, turntables will be isolated preventing any possibility of feedback. Finally, there is also a vinyl storage unit that can replace the supplied base unit.
What is 3D-A.V.R.D.C.
The latest award-winning Atacama Elite Eco 24 Reference hi-fi stands feature an improved version of vectored resonance technology. All of the parts that make up the racks now have grooves cut into them. The grooves are designed to channel resonant energy to the floor via the side supports. Hi-fi equipment can generate resonant energy from internal components such as transformers. The shelf units channel this mechanical resonant energy, firstly, to the height supports via the channels and legs. The grooves in these components then transfer the energy to the adjustable floor isolation spikes. The floor spikes prevent vibration from either getting to the floor from equipment. Moreover, they also work in the opposite direction, preventing any resonances in the room from getting to the equipment.
Floor spikes, prevent feedback from the floor
Each shelf has isolation spikes that also aid airflow while the base unit also has a nickel-plated inverted frustum cone that is placed between the floor spike and the bamboo. This adds extra vibration protection. Moreover, the slots cut into the shelves are designed to break up standing waves, this disperses any resonances. The open-back design also aids with ventilation. Floor spikes only have a tiny point of contact with the floor. As a result, any feedback is minimized.
Why use a hi-fi stand
Hi-Fi stands are more than just functional. High-quality stands, such as the Atacama Elite Eco 24 Reference hi-fi stands are beautiful pieces of furniture. Moreover, they will show off your audio equipment at its best. However, the main reason for using a stand is isolation. High-powered amplifiers, for example, can emit a magnetic field from the transformer. This can interfere with other equipment if the amplifier is stacked directly on top of another unit. Hence why the Atacama Elite Eco 24 Reference hi-fi stands feature grooves that are designed to dissipate any energy.
Moreover, vibration from the floor, caused by loud music, can cause feedback with sensitive equipment such as turntables. Hence, a good quality stand with floor spikes, will prevent any feedback. Additionally, ventilation and the lifespan of equipment are enhanced. Ventilation is important, as overheating can shorten the life of components such as capacitors. Finally, Stands also have the advantage of keeping your audio equipment in one place.
Please Note
The price shown is for one shelf only. To order a full hi-fi rack, add each shelf to your basket separately (for example, start by selecting a "70mm base" as your first shelf. Then select shelf spacing required for the next shelf on your rack. And so on, until you have as many shelves as you want. For a 4 shelf stand, you will add 4 shelves separately to your basket).
