Product Description
The Atacama Evoque Eco 14-16 SE2 Reference Series Hi-Fi stands are the best in the range. The shelf size is 350mm x 400mm and there are three different shelf heights. The units have been upgraded from the standard Evoque and Evoque Eco special edition. Upgrades include more advanced deflection channel design and leg design. Moreover, the Reference series now have stainless steel mechanically tuned spikes. The spikes help to isolate each shelf unit. Finally, the weight capacity has been increased by 50%. Notably, a quality hi-Fi stand will reduce the mutual interference between components as well as present them in the best possible way.
A.S.I.S.T leg dampening gaskets
Each shelf unit, supplied with the Atacama Evoque Eco 14-16 SE2 Reference Series Hi-Fi stands, has Atacama Sonic Isolation System Technology (A.S.I.S.T) built-in. This involves having two dampening gaskets placed in each leg. These have the effect of isolating the aluminium components from the outer leg collar. The aim is to reduce any “ringing” from the metal components. Moreover, the top and lower caps are now connected with internal studs. The studs are designed to dissipate any resonances to the ground. Lastly, the legs are 20mm longer. This lowers the resonant frequency.
Leg Tuning Counterweights and A.V.R.D.C Advanced Vectored Resonance Deflection Channels
The flagship Atacama Evoque Eco 14-16 SE2 Reference Series Hi-Fi stand has also been upgraded with an adjustable nickel-plated bronze frustum counterweight. The weight can be moved so that the particular resonant frequency of the audio component in use can be damped or “tuned” out. Additionally, the A.V.R.D.C Advanced Vectored Resonance Deflection Channels are of a more advanced design. They now form a three-dimensional curved geometric pattern. This is carved into the underside of each bamboo shelf. The pattern is designed to direct mechanical vibrations more effectively toward the legs so that they can be transferred to the ground.
Advanced stainless steel Isolation Coned Spikes
With the Atacama Evoque Eco, 14-16 SE2 Reference Series Hi-Fi stands, each shelf unit’s legs have been redesigned. This has been done to maximize energy transfer to the ground. As a result, they are now larger and longer. They have also been mathematically shaped and are made of stainless steel, for durability and a long life.
Side edge contoured bamboo shelf panels
Another advancement over the Standard Evoque shelf units is the shape of the shelf itself. The Atacama Evoque Eco 14-16 SE2 Reference Series Hi-Fi stands now have a curved edge that is designed to further dissipate any resonances. The curved edges are designed to direct any standing waves into the A.V.R.D.C channels. This makes the shelves more efficient at damping any vibration. Standing waves tend to bounce off straight edges, which causes the wave phase to change. As a result, the waves can reinforce each other. The curved edges are designed to stop this from happening.
Why use a Hi-Fi stand?
The Atacama Evoque Eco 65-60 SE2 Reference Series stands are beautiful pieces of furniture. However, they also perform several important functions. Apart from displaying your valuable audio equipment in the best possible way, they can also improve the sound. The main benefit is isolation. Each component cannot interfere with another component. This is achieved by careful design so that any vibration is dissipated to the ground. For example, amplifiers have transformers that can mechanically vibrate. Additionally, components such as turntables can suffer from feedback, if not properly isolated. Lastly, ventilation is important. This will prevent overheating and the reduction of the life span of electronic equipment. For example, overheating can dry up electrolytic capacitors leading to power supply damage.
