Product Description
The Atacama Evoque Eco 44-16 SE2 Reference Series Hi-Fi stands are available with several shelf sizes. The 44-16 version measures 1120mm x 400mm and is ideal for flat-screen TVs as well as supporting equipment such as AV receivers. This is the flagship range of stands and has several upgrades over the standard Evoque and Evoque Eco special edition.
These include a new more advanced vibration deflection channel design as well as an improved leg design. Moreover, the spikes that support each shelf have also been made larger. Finally, the weight-bearing capacity is 50% higher than in previous versions. A quality stand will display your audio equipment to its best advantage as well as help to improve the sound.
A.S.I.S.T leg dampening gaskets
There are three different shelf heights available, with the Atacama Evoque Eco 14-16 SE2 Reference Series Hi-Fi stands. Each shelf sits on specially designed legs. The legs feature Atacama Sonic Isolation System Technology (A.S.I.S.T). This technology uses two dampening gaskets in each leg.
The gaskets are designed to prevent ringing by isolating the aluminium parts from the outer leg collar. Moreover, the top and lower caps are connected with internal studs. The studs transmit vibration more effectively to the ground. Lastly, the legs have been made slightly shorter to lower the resonant frequency.
Leg Tuning Counterweights and A.V.R.D.C Advanced Vectored Resonance Deflection Channels
The top-of-the-range flagship Atacama Evoque Eco 14-16 SE2 Reference Series Hi-Fi stands have been fitted with additional resonance tuning capability. Each leg has an adjustable nickel-plated bronze frustum counterweight. As a result, the resonant frequency of the audio unit can be “tuned out”.
Finally, the design of the A.V.R.D.C Advanced Vectored Resonance Deflection Channels has been refined. A more complex geometric pattern has been cut into each shelf unit this is designed to dissipate more resonant energy to the legs.
Advanced stainless steel Isolation Coned Spikes
Another advancement is the upgraded stainless steel leg spikes. The spikes provide a very small point of contact that isolates each shelf unit from the one below and above. However, the newest version spike, is larger in diameter and longer. This helps to transfer unwanted vibration down to the ground. The redesign has been mathematically refined to optimize transfer.
Side edge contoured bamboo shelf panels
The shelf units of the Atacama Evoque Eco 14-16 SE2 Reference Series Hi-Fi stands have also been modified. They now have curved edges that are designed to break up standing waves. The curves deflect any resonant waves more effectively into the A.V.R.D.C channels. Standing waves can be reinforced by a straight edge, which is why some loudspeakers have curved edges to the front baffle. The curves change the phase of the standing wave, helping to dampen the vibration.
Why use a Hi-Fi stand?
Why not display your valuable audio equipment in the best possible way? Moreover, a quality stand can also help with the sound quality. For example, isolation between components is important. Large and heavy units, such as amplifiers, emit magnetic fields. They also vibrate due to the power transformer. The Atacama Evoque Eco 14-16 SE2 Reference Series Hi-Fi stands are designed to prevent this noise from interfering with more sensitive units, such as turntables.
There is also the issue of weight. The shelve units with the Atacama Evoque Eco 14-16 SE2 Reference Series Hi-Fi stands are very thick and will not sag. Finally, ventilation is important. High-power units get hot and are best placed with adequate air around them. The life span of power supplies can be reduced if the capacitors run too hot and dry up.
