Product Description
The Atacama Monoplinth Eco 70/80 isolation platform support is designed for Atacama Monoblock amplifiers. It is a larger version of the Atacama Monoplinth Eco 65/75 isolation platform support. The dimensions are 700mm x 600mm as opposed to 600mm x 650mm. Notably, vibration and resonance isolation is provided by two technologies. The first uses Vectored Resonance Displacement Channels (VRDC). These are cut into the base of the platform and are designed to dissipate any mechanical vibration or noise to the ground. Additionally, the legs feature gaskets that further isolate the amplifier from the environment. Finally, the platforms are sold in pairs, however, the price is per shelf.
Vectored Resonance Displacement channels to isolate the amplifier
The main way of reducing resonance and vibration, with the Atacama Monoplinth Eco 60/65 isolation platform supports is V.R.D.C. (Vectored Resonance Displacement Channels). This involves cutting channels in the underside of each support. Known as displacement channels, they direct mechanical energy away from the component. Additionally, the legs use sets of A.S.I.S.T (Atacama Sonic Isolation System Technology) gaskets. The gaskets are thought to redirect energy to the floor. This dissipates any noise and vibration. The legs provide a weight capacity of 70kg and there are in fact two legs in each corner for added support. Finally, for delicate floors, spike shoes are available.
Why monoblock amplifier stands?
Next, there are several reasons why you should use amplifier stands, such as the Atacama Monoplinth Eco 60/65 isolation platform supports. Firstly, monoblock amplifiers are very heavy. Normal furniture would buckle under pressure. Secondly, Monoblock's usually feature transformers both for the power supply and output, if they are valve units. These transformers emit a magnetic field. This field can interfere with other components. Thirdly, large amplifiers have a tendency to run hot and benefit from being in the open air, and not in a sealed cabinet. As a result, the Atacama Monoplinth Eco 60/65 isolation platform supports are designed to obviate these issues. The weight-bearing capacity is large and any mechanical noise is dissipated to ground.
