Product Description
A5+ Wireless Speakers are Bluetooth speakers with sound that fills any room and connects to any device. The traditional analog amplifiers sound incredible compared to lower-cost digital amps found in other mass-produced brands.
A5+ Wireless Speakers
Audioengine A5+ wireless speakers employ proprietary aramid fibre woofers, silk tweeters, Bluetooth aptX and integrated power amps, enclosed in a precision-tuned, hand-built cabinet. Contrary to it’s size it delivers a large, clean and powerful sound suitable for medium sized rooms.
Amplifier Design
The amplifiers in Audioengine speakers are located in the left speaker and are a conservatively rated analog design. All components are tuned together for each model, which provides a much more efficient system requiring less power than passive speakers and separate amplifiers. Circuit boards for the power and preamp sections are mounted for maximum mechanical shock protection.
Wireless Bluetooth
A5+ features Audioengine's most-versatile wireless Bluetooth technology for instant playback of all your favorite music, apps and devices. Advanced aptX audio codec is used and even if your device does not have aptX, A5+ is backwards-compatible with SBC and AAC so you can wirelessly stream music from any Bluetooth-enabled device. Through careful signal control circuitry and antenna tuning, A5+ has up to 3 times the range of standard Bluetooth for multi-room without degrading audio quality.
Surprisingly Loud
A5+ is built with custom proprietary components including aramid fiber woofers, silk tweeters, Bluetooth aptX and integrated power amps all enclosed in a precision-tuned, hand-built cabinet. These hold a lot more sound than is perceived delivering clean, wholesome and powerful music that is suitable for medium sized rooms.
Bass Performance
The purpose-shaped bass port with tubes are designed through the use of exact calculations to produce astounding lows with minimal audible air turbulence. This "integrated mini-sub" design enables use with or without a subwoofer. No enhancement circuits are used meaning that you hear only genuine low and clean bass.
Custom Components
Audioengine speakers are not “box built” with off-the-shelf parts but are custom-designed to spec with tweeters, woofers and other critical components designed and manufactured in-house. Cabinets, drivers, bass port designs, amplifiers and crossovers are meticulously tuned together to creates a much more efficient system that requires less power than passive speakers with an isolated integrated amplifier or similar AV components.
Driver Designs
Audioengine A5+ employs audiophile-quality silk dome tweeters that are ferrofluid-cooled and incorporate neodymium magnets making them durable under high power offering an ultra smooth response. The woven glass composite woofers use rubber surrounds and are constructed from aramid fibre, a robust material that preserves the woofer's shape when driven at high levels. Video shielded drivers allows placement within inches of a video monitor and shields HDD digital music players.
Power Transformers
A large contributor especially in the low end to the complete audio performance is the bespoke power transformers. Gapless core toroidal transformers with a tighter radiated magnetic field are used for lower noise. These are lighter than typical cheaper transformers and also produce less heat.
Effortless Set Up
A5+ Wireless Speaker is easy to connect to your smart device, turntable, TV, network player or other audio product. Simply plug your source right into the inputs on the left speaker's rear panel via the supplied cables or alternatively connect through Bluetooth. There is no need for network setup, passwords or pushing buttons.

Given the superb performance of these speakers they are a relative bargain. They get better with each passing day. Streamed audio sounds like the finest of cd players and an actual Marantz cd player sounds like a more esoteric hi-fi system through it. Mounted on mass loaded Atacama stands the bass is magnificent ( a sub-woofer option ? - well only if you really want to bring the house down ! ). Putting some John Bonham through them will make all one's hairs stand up, with a natural timbre and realistic presence that is enthralling. Yet this bass performance is not over cooked, play some Irish folk and one is treated to the sort of reproduction that makes the neighbours think that there is a real Cèilidh going on ! The amp is astonishing and there is plenty of power on tap to fill any room. Musical fidelity in abundance and an ear to ear grin of utmost listening pleasure every time !
