Product Description
Black Rhodium Thunder DCT ++ CS Monoblock Master is the ultimate high end speaker cable incorporating individual routes for positive and negative, each with their own mechanical isolators.
Thunder is based on the design of the successful Athena Loudspeaker Cable using the same cryogenically treated cores but more of them to achieve much lower impedance. It is equivalent to connecting four pairs of Athena cable in parallel.
Vibration Stabiliser
Thunder features the GN Legacy VS-2 Vibration Stabiliser developed for the GN Legacy range of cables. The vibration stabiliser has been specially designed to reduce audible cable distortion in cables by limiting the effects of vibrations travelling through the conductor wires which can cause audible distortion to your music.
Advanced Cryogenic
Thunder is treated with advanced DCT++ cryogenic treatment which alters the molecular structure of the cable to enhance uniformity with everlasting benefits enhancing every single aspect of the cables performance.
Crystal Sound Processing
In addition to DCT++, Thunder is also treated with the Crystal Sound Process which refocuses the outermost skin of the conductor so the surface is more closely packed and regular, and has a consistency which aids conduction through eliminating voids left by the drawing process. The bass notes sound more powerful and refined (similar performance to a much larger cable) and other notes have greater clarity in sound.
Low Transient Phase Distortion
Thunder clearly replicates vocals and separates instruments superbly by using thicker than standard insulation in speaker cables, increasing the distance between conductors and thereby reducing the magnetic field between each conductor wire. The benefit in listening is a clearer and more open sound quality.
Low Loss Silicone Rubber insulation
Thunder delivers fast and sharp leading edges as well as more natural lingering decays to music. Silicone rubber insulation is chosen for its low dielectric loss ensuring very low distortion due to dielectric absorption effects where sound energy creates highly audible time-smearing distortion. The soft absorbent nature absorbs mechanical vibration effects and reduces audible distortion in the conductor wires.
Anti RFI / EMI Technology
The core is continuously twisted along its length to prevent the cable acting as a loop aerial. Supplementary RFI/EMI filtering is applied straight to the conductor wire stopping high frequency noise modulating the signal at either end of the cable. Both treatments are designed to minimise the amount of audible distortion for cleaner, clearer sound generation from your equipment.
Advanced Manufacturing Techniques
Thunder DCT++'s silver plated copper cores are connected in opposite positive and negative signals. Listening tests have shown this lowers the noise floor between the musical notes affording ‘blacker’ silences in the interval between musical notes and augmenting reproduction of the musical bounds and decays.
The directionality of the out/return lines is built in during construction, the silicone rubber insulation is 2mm thick isolating each strand from its neighbours to minimise proximity effect distortion and the cable and connectors are twice deep cryogenically treated before and after assembly.
High End Rhodium Plated Connectors
This cable is terminated with ultra-high quality Rhodium Plated Locking Banana Plugs exclusively treated with the DCT++ CS treatment. Rhodium plating preserves a cleaner and less corroded contact between the plug and socket and its effect is a much livelier and more exciting sound. Extra security of the link between the cable and plug is provided by a set screw that clamps the outer insulation of the wire.
