Product Description
The Cabasse The Pearl Pelegrina Active Speakers inc Stands (Pair) has been issued as a limited edition to celebrate Cabasse’s 70th anniversary. Modern connectivity has been paired with Cabasse know-how, to create a masterpieces of audio engineering. The flagship Pearl Pelegrina is named after a rare 55-carat pearl, that was discovered in 1913. Only 70 pairs have been made and each features a numbered plaque. To save hanging wires all the connectivity is in the base. Moreover, very sophisticated software is used to monitor the sound, and correct any frequency response errors. The Pearl is an all-in-one-system with both digital connectivity and analogue inputs. Finally, the unit can be controlled via a custom app.
The best technologies for the ultimate sound
The most demanding of music lovers will love the integration of good looks with the latest technology. The main sphere is only 42CM in diameter, but is capable of room filling sound. Cabasse tri-coaxial driver technology is used, along with best signal processing. Cabasse use their own software as well as cutting edge streaming technologies.
CRCS automatic room calibration
Unusually, the Pearl Pelegrina Active Speakers has its own built in microphone, for the room calibration system. This optimises the sound quality, based on the room itself. The microphone monitors the actual sound and corrects any errors. Very high precision digital parametric filers are used. Moreover, the software identifies any deviation in the frequency response and automatically equalises the sound. The bass is also automatically monitored and adjusted to match the room acoustics
Quadri-coaxial drivers
The Pearl Pelegrina Active Speakers uses the new HELD driver Class D amplifier which uses four separate amplifiers, driving four separate speaker elements. The total power is 1850 watts RMS. The TCA (tri-coaxial aramid driver) driver has been upgraded. notably, the DSP has also been upgraded.
The result is exceptional sound, with accuracy and precision. Moreover, the Pearl Pelegrina Active Speakers have a massive dynamic capacity, the equivalent of an aircraft taking-off. The design of the speaker motor features a perfectly symmetrical double winding and air gap. This creates a very linear excursion with low inductance variation. As a result, distortion is very low even at high volumes
Why Class D?
Class D amplifiers are used where high-power is required, in a small space. Class D is up to 90% efficient and generates much less heat than linear amplifiers. Liner amplifiers usually use bipolar transistors, while Class D uses fast switching MOSFET transistors.
Extraordinary design
The Pearl Pelegrina Active Speakers features several embellishments, unique to the limited-edition version. Only top-quality materials are used to create the luxurious finish. Moreover, the Lissajous curve stand, was designed in France and is almost 130cm tall. The sphere itself is 48cm in diameter. Another exclusive feature is the polished mirror metal band that further enhances this remarkable piece.
Concealed connectivity
To avoid breaking the surface of the sphere, the connections are situated in the base. This also avoids any hanging wires. There is an Ethernet port as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Analogue inputs include balanced XLR inputs as well as RCA connectors. There is also an optical digital input. The built in DAC can stream HD audio at 768 kHz / 32 bits resolution. This is a “complete system in a speaker”. The Pearl also uses Digital Signal Processing to optimise the sound as well as protect the drivers.
Easy use with StreamControl app
The Pearl Pelegrina Active Speakers can be controlled by the Cabasse StreamControl app. This can be installed on Android and Apple devices and is used to access streaming services such as Deezer, Napster or Qobuz. You can also access files stored on NAS drives, or plugged in USB drives.
