Product Description
Focal 1000 IW6 in-wall loudspeaker is a compact and discrete alternative to traditional indoor speaker installations; it's designed to deliver a high-quality sound performance for your home cinema system, particularly as a rear channel in-wall integration.
Focal Driver Design
Focal's 1000 series IW6 in wall speaker uses Focal's state of the art driver technologies, such as the Beryllium tweeter and 'W' sandwich cone to achieve a sound reproduction that combines accuracy, transparency and power.
Adjustable Beryllium Tweeter
An adjustable feature at the tweeter level allows you to optimise to your audio experience by making sure the listening point is in the optimum position. The Beryllium dome covers more than five octaves (1000Hz – 40kHz). This extended frequency response offers improved perception of transients and micro details.
Beryllium is 7x more rigid than Titanium or Aluminum resulting in a sound wave propagation 3x faster than Titanium and 2.5x faster than Aluminum. The linearity of the frequency response curve, acoustic transparency and impulse response of the Beryllium tweeter are maximised to offer near-perfect sound.
W Composite Sandwich Cone
The “W” composite sandwich cone optimises the frequency response curve through its lightness, rigidity and damping. “W” means "Glass" as it usually has two sheets of woven glass tissue, with incredibly fine weaving of very long fibres, sandwiched onto the foam core.
This grants a lower mass and size than those in Aramid fibers or other Kevlar fabrics to control the signal transmission speed. Adjusting the thickness of the structural foam allows a very precise control of the “W” cone’s damping for entirely transparent sound that has an excellent phase response and very low disortion rate.
