Product Description
The Focal Bathys Dune Edition Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones are the new colourway of Focal's first Bluetooth 5.1 headphones. They also feature active noise-cancelling technology and superb sound. The new colour is inspired by the desert's soft hues and the Greek landscape's lightness.
These headphones provide Hi-Fi on the move and an immersive listening experience with no background noise. Moreover, the battery life is 30 hours and there is a supplied bespoke carrying case. Lastly, the Aluminium/magnesium drivers provide a detailed and dynamic sound.
Lightweight with three noise-cancelling modes
These ergonomic Focal Bathys Dune Edition Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones are lightweight, compact, and made of modern materials. These include magnesium for the Yokes and real leather for the headband. This provides great comfort with any head shape. Moreover, the grilles on the earcups are round in shape giving an aesthetically pleasing effect. The Focal symbol can also be illuminated.
Focal know-how
Focal’s renowned know-how has been incorporated in the Focal Bathys Dune Edition Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones. They are made in France and feature patented Aluminium/Magnesium “M”-dome speaker drivers. The drivers provide a detailed, precise and dynamic sound.
The built-in USB-DAC has a resolution of 24bits/192kHz. As a result, the sound is uncompromised and sweet. Lastly, there are three noise cancelling modes, Silent, Soft and Transparent.
Connectivity
The Focal Bathys Dune Edition Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones can connect with Bluetooth 5.1. Additionally, they have a standard 3.5mm socket and a USB C connector. The control buttons are easily accessible and there is an adjustable EQ circuit.
There is also a dedicated app available that has Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice assistants enabled. Finally, two cables are supplied a 1.2m 3.5mm lead and a 1.2m USB-C lead. There is also a bespoke carrying case.
What is active noise cancelling?
Active noise cancelling is used by the Focal Bathys Dune Edition Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones. This technology has various methodologies for implementation. All of them use built-in microphones and speakers inside the earcups. Essentially the microphones “listen” to outside sounds and the headphone’s chipset then generates an antiphase signal that cancels out the external sound.
Mathematically this is similar to 2-2 = zero. A feed-forward system has a microphone placed on the outside of the earphone while a feed-back system has a microphone on the inside of the earcup. Lastly, a Hybrid system has a combination of feed-forward and feed-back.
The advantages of wireless headphones
Wireless headphones, such as the Focal Bathys Dune Edition Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones, benefit from a tangle-free listening experience. They allow for unrestricted movement with no cables to get caught on surrounding objects.
They also provide easy access to voice assistants. The choice of wireless use or cable provides the best of both worlds. Additionally, the built-in DAC is far superior to that normally found in PCs or Smartphones.
