The Focal Littoria Marine 200 ICW8 In Ceiling or Wall Speaker can withstand the harsh marine environment. It features a rugged design that can be used in spas and steam rooms as well as yachts. An 8” bass/midrange driver is coupled with an aluminium m-shaped tweeter. The sound is of high quality with a power handling of 150 watts and a frequency response of 48Hz to 28 kHz. Moreover, five sizes of speakers are available in the range, of up to 10”. Lastly, there is a switchable crossover, for indoor or outdoor use.
Ruggedized marine build
The design of the Focal Littoria Marine 200 ICW8 In Ceiling or Wall Speaker has an iris IP cone bass/midrange unit that has an aluminium domed tweeter mounted over it. This makes the speaker low profile and compact, with a mellow and detailed treble. Next, the speaker has high water resistance and resistance to dust ingress. The system also has an improved seal as well as a fast and reliable mounting system. Lastly, there is a switchable crossover that can be optimized for either indoor or outdoor use. The speaker connection is also sealed against water penetration.
About marine speakers
The focal Littoria Marine 200 or 1000 range is specifically designed to be used on boats. As a result, they have waterproof seals for both the speaker and wiring connections. These resist corrosion from saltwater and can withstand extreme temperature variations. Next, the size of the speakers range from 6” to 10” and should be chosen to match the size of the boat. A marine subwoofer is also available. Moreover, the wiring requirements are different for boats. For example, there are special earthing requirements. Lastly, marine speakers will not work underwater.
