Record Clamps - Oyaide
Turntable record clamps and weights are designed to keep records flat during playback and prevent slipping. Weights simply fit over the spindle and weigh the record down and clamps push over the spindle and clamp onto the spindle. Even if your record looks flat and you use a good turntable mat, adding a clamp/weight will ensure your phono cartridge is able to move through the grooves as accurately as possible.

Even the most carefully maintained record collection can become warped over time. Or maybe you are a record collector who has picked up a rare vinyl which is warped or bowed and isn’t in the best condition. Good quality record Clamps & Weights can have a big difference in the sound quality and accuracy you experience from your turntable and record collection. By keeping the record as flat as possible, Clamps & Weights ensure that the turntable needle or stylus can track the record’s grooves more precisely, which in turn produces a more accurate sound.
Record Clamps & Weights tend to follow two different principles in order to keep your record as flat as possible. A record clamp, as the name suggests, fits on the spindle and clamps the record to the platter as tightly as possible, keeping it in place, and allowing for optimum tracking. A weight on the other hand uses its mass rather than grip to keep the record flat and in place. Some stabilisers offer adjustable levels of mass to allow you to customise the weight you apply to your record and the effect it has on your music and the turntable’s ability to track the grooves accurately.
It is important to check that the Clamp or Weight you purchase is suitable for your turntable. Some manufacturers use bespoke spindle systems, meaning that not every Clamp or Weight will be suitable for use with them. For instance, Rega turntables will need specific Rega clamps, and Michell turntables will need Clamps & Weights suitable for use with Michell products. Most brands use a standardised spindle, making it easier to
