iFi Audio GND Defender is designed to obtain a cleaner performance from your audio equipment by removing hum that is common in multiple ground/earths in a system.
How to remove ground loop hum?
If an audio system has multiple Grounds/Earths, it often creates unwanted ground loops that produce an annoying low-frequency hum; the ideal system would only have one Ground/Earth. GND Defender detects a ground loop and cuts the ground for that component without jeopardising the safety or EMI shielding.
