Product Description
iFi Audio Nova SilentPower mains cable is a specialised high end IEC power cable that is designed to be an upgrade to any standard or lesser mains cable. The Nova SilentPower uses five thick OFC conductors and the live and neutral cable are kept apart by air filled tubes. This configuration is designed to cancel out any magnetic fields and gives a balanced design. Finally, hi-grade plugs are used that are gold plated and oxygen free.

The cable
The Nova has five thick conductors. Two pairs each for live and neutral, spaced around the earth, centre cable. The cables are made from heavy-gauge, continuous-cast OFHC (Oxygen-Free High Thermal Conductivity) copper. The configuration is geometrically balanced. Two polymer tubes that are filled with air keep the live and neutral conductors apart. Furthermore, this improves the dielectric strength, or insulation, as well as being designed to aid the cable's overall performance. Next, a tough outer polymer sheath protects the conductors. The cable is terminated with gold plated mains connectors.
Ground Zero
The configuration of the Nova cable means that there is no magnetic field that can get into the ground cable. There is also no induced voltage . This design is known as Ground Zero. This is a constant impedance or balanced cable. Magnetic fields cancel each other out. The twisted configuration also aids interference rejection.

This mix of hi-grade materials and top quality construction is designed to give a constant impedance. The cable rejects EMI/RFI keeping the mains, going to your audiophile equipment, pure and interference free. Why use the matching PowerStation?
Domestic equipment such as computers, fridges and even mobile phone chargers can emit a lot of electrical noise. This can get into the mains supply as well as be picked up by unshielded cables. Mains conditioners like the PowerStation (available separately) are designed to strip out this noise. You cannot hear the noise directly but it can give music a “grainy” effect, that masks the detail.
