Product Description
iFi Audio Zen DAC V2 Headphone Amplifier builds upon previous iFi Audio award-winning hi-res USB DAC/headphone amp, upgraded with a more powerful digital engine and circuitry. The Zen DAC V2 is highly accessible, compact and allows you to listen to music from the comfort of your desk.
Upgrade Digital Engine
The iFi Audio Zen DAC V2 headphone amp has been fitted with a 16-core chip digital engine, unlike it's predecessor, which had a 8-core XMOS Chip.
MQA Audio
Because of the powerful 16-core chip, the iFi Audio Zen DAC V2 can now decode MQA rather than render, which allows you to play back MQA audio files. MQA files deliver the sound of the original master recording, allowing you to hear music the way it was supposed to be.
How is the iFi Zen DAC V2 Headphone Amplifier Powered?
Connect your iFi Audio Zen DAC VIA USB to your laptop or PC, or by using a 5V external power source that is compatible with the model.
Improved Performance and Sound
iFi Audio's Zen DAC v2 has been designed to deliver an improved performance over the original model with the addition of a upgraded low jitter, crystal clock, which allows the Zen DAC V2 to remain quiet even in noisy situations.
TrueBass Technology
The TrueBass function is a switchable 'bass boost' option that enhances the bass frequencies without making the mid-range muddy, this is ideal for use with In-Ear-Monitors or open-back headphones, which are known to lack sufficient bass levels because of their design.
USB2.0 or USB3.0 with the iFi Zen DAC V2 Headphone Amp?
The headphone amplifier is compatible with both versions of USB, however, iFi Audio recommends using a USB3.0 cable for the best overall performance especially in terms of mechanical connection.
Compact Design
iFi Audio's Zen DAC V2 is sleek and compact so you can to use it as a desktop USB DAC/headphone amp without it being obtrusive and in the way. It's minimalistic control design makes it easy and simple to use.
Flexible for all Hifi Set-ups
The Zen DAC v2 can be switched between a 'variable' or 'fixed' setting, so you can accurately integrate the headphone amp into your set-up. When set to 'variable' you can use the Zen DAC Version 2 as a pre-amp, and when set to 'fixed' you can bypass the volume control so you can use it purely as a DAC, and connect to another pre-amp.
Headphone Matching
For accurate headphone matching, the iFi Audio Zen DAC v2 has a function called PowerMatch, which allows you to set the appropriate gain level. It is recommended that for IEMs, the PowerMatch should be set to it's lowest setting, and for on/over-ear headphones the PowerMatch should be increased.
