Turn your movies and TV shows into a 3D experience. MultiBeam technology and Dolby Atmos deliver a stunning 3D soundstage. Moreover, PureVoice technology ensures that dialogue is always heard. Streaming services are available via AirPlay, Alexa, MRM, or Chromecast built-in.
Deep bass without an extra subwoofer
With the JBL Bar 300 Soundbar, four front-firing full-range racetrack drivers deliver punchy bass without needing an extra subwoofer. This is due to the built-in bass port. Additionally, there are two 20mm silk domed tweeters at either end of the bar. The angle of the surrounding horn has been carefully calculated to give the best sound dispersion, with the most efficiency. Elevate your movie experience with this compact soundbar from JBL.
What is Dolby Atmos?
Dolby Atmos was first used in cinemas and is now available in the home with the JBL Bar 300 Soundbar. Dolby Atmos is an advancement over conventional 5.1 and 7.1 surround systems in that it has overhead sound. This gives a more immersive 3D experience. Conventional surround sound sends sound to specific channels, while Dolby Atmos has up to 128 sound objects that can be placed anywhere in the 3D sound field. This makes movies more involved with a fuller multidimensional sound. So how do create 3D sound from a soundbar?
MultiBeam technology
The JBL Bar 300 Soundbar uses JBL-developed MultiBeam technology. This took years of research and development to perfect and uses beamforming technology to replicate an amazing surround sound effect. Unlike conventional soundbars that only provide sound from the front, the JBL Bar 300 Soundbar has twin side-firing tweeters. These are used in conjunction with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to create a multibeam effect. The sound beams bounce off the walls and ceiling creating a 3D sound effect. Another issue with movies is dialogue inaudibility.
PureVoice technology
Dialogue is an essential part of any movie soundtrack; however, it can often be inaudible due to loud background music or sound effects. As a result, JBL has developed PureVoice technology. Normal voice enhancement uses equalization to make dialogue more audible. This is done by boosting the mid-range; however, this has the effect of boosting other parts of the soundtrack at the same time. Therefore, PureVoice features a more intelligent system. It uses the built-in DSP engine to actually find the dialogue and enhance that, without affecting any other sounds. This is an automatic process and needs no adjustment. However, the shape of the room can also affect the sound and the JBL Bar 300 Soundbar has room compensation built in.
Sound calibration
The shape and size of a room can also affect the sound. As a result, soundbars need to be set up for a specific room. Normally, this is done by using an external microphone and a complicated setup process. However, the JBL Bar 300 Soundbar has an embedded microphone to make setup easier. The system analyses the sound in the room and automatically applies equalization to best match the room's acoustics.
Connectivity
The JBL Bar 300 Soundbar has HDMI eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) support enabled. This means that you can connect your TV via an HDMI lead to the soundbar, and play Uncompressed audio and high-bitrate content such as Dolby Atmos. As a result, over the air content as well as disk playback will be automatically decoded. Dolby Atmos signals will then provide the full 3D effect
