Product Description
Leak CDT CD Transport offers the highest available standard of CD sound reproduction within this price class. It uses an ultra-smooth slot-loading mechanism and can also playback from USB devices.
Dedicated Power Supply
The CD transport is mounted within its own electromagnetically shielded enclosure and supplied with a dedicated power supply. The digital clock is controlled by a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator that ensures the digital output from both the coaxial and optical sockets has minimal digital distortion thus the digital signal extraction is exceptionally precise.
Device Playback
The USB storage device playback functionality offers full transport controls and file navigation. The CDT is compatible with FAT16 and FAT32 formatted devices and will playback media in the WMA, MP3, WAV and AAC format.

One step ahead
The premium CD mechanism uses read ahead buffering to reduce disc read errors and deliver the highest level of digital signal extraction from CD media. A temperature-compensated crystal oscillator controls the master clock.
This enables the digital only output to provide incredibly low digital distortion (also referred to as ‘jitter’). This low jitter output offers superior performance when compared to like-for-like players.
Excellent isolation
Leak CDT protects the CD mechanism from electrical interference to ensure the purity of signal further enhancing the performance for the audio enthusiast.

Great cd transport

Just to say that this Leak cdt is a revelation! It was bought because I had (from somewhere else) an Audiolab cdt 6000 break down on me and because they didn't have any more in stock plus the problems of lockdown with repair I was refunded in full. I read that the Leak had the same innards as the Audiolab but also noticed from the specs (eg 50 mv +/10mv peak to peak vs 60 mv +/- 10 mv peak to peak digital output plus the Leak stresses 'electromagnetic shielding' which the Audiolab doesn't) that there were some intriguing differences. Hifi World had already awarded this 5 globes recently so after not being impressed with the reliability of the Audiolab I thought I'd spend an extra £70 on this and boy am I glad I did. The Audiolab was good don't get me wrong before it died on me unexpectedly but this is in a league above it. Fuller, richer with (to my ears) a greater dynamic range. I've had a few cd transports some costing a lot more than this one new but to my mind none have sounded quite this good! I expected the performance to be similar to the very good Audiolab but I was pleasantly surprised that it beat it out of sight. Bargain cd transport of the moment. Get it while you can!
