Product Description
The Marantz Model 30 Integrated Amplifier is a mid-priced unit with a single set of speaker outputs. HDAM modules are used to provide exquisite detail and great musicality from all sources. The amplifier has been master tuned and has a fully discrete, two-stage circuit that is designed to have minimal interference and distortion.
HDAM technology from Marantz gives great signal purity. Additionally, a premium feature is the impedance selectable phono preamp, which can be used with either MM or MC cartridges. Finally, the output power is 100 watts per channel into 8 Ohms. Two independent power supplies are used for the preamp circuits and the power amplifier.
Optimally tuned
Hundreds of hours have gone into tuning the Marantz Model 30 Integrated Amplifier. Experience the exquisite detail and musicality famed by Marantz. Marantz uses high-performance HDAM amplifier units. These are stamp-sized modules that have a massive amount of gain as well as a high slew rate. HDAM stands for Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Module. They consist of specially selected components. HDAM modules significantly outperform most IC-based units.
MC and MM phono stage
Another location where HDAM units are used is the Phono preamp. The preamp can be used with both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges thanks to the built-in moving coil head stage. Two-stage amplification is used. Notably a JFET input is paired with an HDAM unit to give the necessary gain. This removes the need for coupling capacitors and also improves the distortion performance and frequency response.
Selectable phono stage impedance
Moving coil cartridges have a wider range of gain requirements and impedance settings than moving magnet types. As a result, a premium feature of the Marantz Model 30 Integrated Amplifier is the selectable gain and impedance settings. Three impedance settings are provided, at 33, 100, and 390 Ohms.
Connectivity
The Marantz Model 30 Integrated Amplifier has six analogue inputs including a tape loop. The tape loop features an output that sends the source signal to a tape deck for recording. Moreover, there is a phono input that can be used with either an MM or MC cartridge. There is a selector switch for MM cartridges for three different impedance MC cartridges. There is also a power amp direct input as well as a preamp output. Finally, speaker outputs are provided for one set of speakers.
Twin power supplies
Two power supplies are used by the Marantz Model 30 Integrated Amplifier the preamp and power amp stages have their own toroidal transformer-based power supplies. This ensures that the high-gain circuits are not affected by the high current demands of the power amplifier.
Also, a double-shielded steel case encloses the power supply to suppress any magnetic fields. The power amp power supply provides the high current needed by the Class D output stage. As a result, high transient music such as drum beats will not significantly load the power supply. Giving an accurate and punchy sound.
