Product Description
The Marantz PM6007 Integrated Amplifier is the best value amplifier in the Marantz range and has many top-quality features. The amplifier has a wide bandwidth and low distortion, providing an output of 45 watts per channel into 8 Ohms. The power supply is also a high current type. Moreover, there is a built-in DAC and a quality MM phono stage.
Digital inputs include two optical and one coaxial connector. Notably, the attractive front panel features a large volume and source select knob, as well as a headphone output. There is also a tone defeat button.
Current feedback amplifier.
The current feedback amplifier used by the Marantz PM6007 Integrated Amplifier has a wide bandwidth and dynamic sound reproduction. The frequency response is 10Hz to 70kHz. Combined with the high current power supply the unit can drive even the least efficient speakers with great energy. Additionally, an advanced thermal compensation circuit prevents any distortion under extreme circumstances.
High current power supply
The power supply of an amplifier needs to have enough reserves to supply transient peaks in the music. As a result, the Marantz PM6007 Integrated Amplifier has a high current design with fast-switching Schottky Barrier Diodes. These are used in conjunction with high-quality reservoir capacitors that can hold a lot of energy. This gives the amplifier a wide dynamic range as well as the ability to drive awkward loads.
Built in DAC
The built-in DAC provided with the Marantz PM6007 Integrated Amplifier is a high-quality reference class unit. It can process audio data at up to 192-kHz/24-bit resolution. This gives optimum performance for clear digital audio as well as hi-res audio files.
Toroidal transformer
The Marantz PM6007 Integrated Amplifier features a toroidal transformer that is more efficient and smaller than the traditional EL core transformers. Toroidal core transformers also emit less electromagnetic radiation and mechanical vibration. As a result, there is less chance of hum being introduced into the highly sensitive preamp stages.
Great connectivity
There is a wide range of inputs and outputs with the Marantz PM6007 Integrated Amplifier. Analogue inputs include inputs for a CD player and a network player. There is also a tape loop. Additionally, an MM phono stage is provided.
Digital inputs include two optical and one coaxial input. There is also a pre-out. Two sets of speaker terminals are available. The second set could be used to drive a subwoofer that has a speaker-level input.
MM phono stage
The Marantz PM6007 Integrated Amplifier has a built-in MM phono stage. This is suitable for moving magnet cartridges that have an output of around 5 mV. There are two types of magnetic cartridges available.
Moving magnet and moving coil. moving coil cartridges have a much lower output than moving magnet types and would need an additional preamp. The advantage of moving coil cartridges is the lower mass design. The cantilever has less mass resulting in better tracking at high frequencies.
