Product Description
The Martin Logan Motion MP10 surround speakers are a well featured and compact speaker. Moreover, it can be used as either a bookshelf speaker or a wall mounted surround speaker. The design is shallow and the innovative shape, means that it can be mounted upside down on a wall. The angled cut-out ensures that the sound will then be angled downwards, towards the listener. Notably, the Motion MP10 Surround Speakers has a Gen2 FMT folded motion waveguide tweeter that ensures that the listening area is covered by a detailed and clear sound.
Folded motion tweeter
The tweeter design uses a thin film diaphragm. This provides a higher output and lower distortion, compared to previous versions. Moreover, over fifty design options were looked at, before the design of the waveguide was finalized. As a result, the best was found to be a folded motion type, with a corrugated surface. This design best matches the woofer and gave a wide dispersion pattern. This is designed to make the listening position less critical. The Power handling is 20-200 Watts.
Stealth Bass port
The Martin Logan range uses a woven woofer that is made of lightweight and strong fibreglass. This provides a good match to the folded motion tweeter. As a result, the sound is well balanced and the dialogue is crystal clear. Notably, the Motion MP10 Surround Speakers is a two-way speaker, so the woofer also reproduces the mid frequencies. The crossover frequency is around 2.1kHz. The MP 10 features a stealth bass port that boosts the low frequency output. The port will not be blocked by wall mounting or the mounting bracket.
Rigid cabinet for low resonance.
The motion Range from Martin Logan are not only well designed but look beautiful. The cabinet design prevents any resonances, and the sophisticated waveguides provide a well dispersed sound. Three high quality finishes are available. Satin white, walnut or gloss black. These bookshelf or surround speakers also match the rest of the Motion range.
Who are Martin Logan?
Martin Logan were formed in the early 1980’s and specialized in Electrostatic speakers, as they still do today. The company founders had a background in architecture and electrical engineering. As a result, their knowhow led to innovative design developments, such as the curvilinear electrostatic speaker. This negated the beaming effect at high frequencies. Giving the speakers a wide dispersion pattern. Today Martin Logan also makes a range of conventional speakers with innovative designs, such as the Motion MP10 Surround Speakers.
