Product Description
The Monitor Audio Silver Fx 7G effects speakers have had a significant aesthetic upgrade, the updated design forgoes the previous designs grille pegs and now has a magnetic grille for the very first time on the Silver FX line. The model has been enhanced with the silver series 7G drivers and crossover design. The FX 7G now offers an excellent rear channel option, perfect for home cinema setups.
Monitor Audio Silver FX 7G RST Driver Design
An upgraded Cone profile provides a more sturdy profile and features an evolved hexagonal, dimpled structure taken from the Platinum II Series’ RDT II Driver development. Designed to give a look at the internal design elements which are not usually visible.
Excellent Directivity in Mid-Range
Monitor Audio have created an updated mid-range following the same design aims as the Gold 5G; to improve directivity via a compact design and to maximise the driver bandwidth, allowing for a smooth crossover with the tweeter.
Mid-Bass Driver
The Silver FX 7G cone & surround geometry is enhanced together to dampen the main cones resonance, influenced by the Bronze 6G development and paired with the Uniform Dispersion Waveguide results in a far higher performance from the full setup. The silver FX 7G voice coil diameter has been increased from 25mm in the Silver 6G to 28.5mm in the Silver 7G.
Refreshed Crossover Design
The crossover separates the signals between tweeter and bass drivers in the Silver FX 7G, making the design crucial to the overall speaker performance. Silver 7G instruments a combination of third-order filters for all tweeter sections with a combination of second and third on the bass and midrange drivers
Magnificent Cabinet & Finishes
The Monitor Audio Silver FX 7G features a fresh look that comes in two finishes available to order; Satin White and High Gloss Black. The tweeter trims now match the cabinet finish, the protection dispersion pattern has been upgraded and is made from durable, stainless steel.
Key Features
- Additional reinforcement from single bolt through to the front and rear cabinet removes unwanted chassis resonances in the driver
- Low distortion at 1.5kHz the midrange driver has 12dB lower THD than then Silver 6G midrange.
- Large 35mm voice coil delivers high power handling
- New 66mm cone with a 100mm Chassis
- Smaller diameter enables a bandwidth increase within the midrange driver making the crossover to the tweeter seamless, reducing distortion at 1 - 3kHz.
- Compact size delivers incredible directivity, expanding the listening area.
- Decreased in size surround avoids resonance in the critical midrange frequency region
