Product Description
Naim SuperNait 3 Integrated Amplifier is the third generation of the original SuperNait inheriting over four and a half decades of Naim's audio expertise. It incorporates dramatic performance upgrades along with a new integrated phono stage reproducing Naim's signature sound and enabling seamless partnering with turntables, streamers, CD players and more sources.
Naim Legacy
SuperNait features upgrades that have been developed in the six years since the model's inception to produce a better power amplifier section along with greater timing and intimacy in audio delivery. The new phono stage is formed around classic Naim designs and built from audiophile-grade parts expertly chosen and combined for maximum precision.
Upgrades
The doubled speed of the voltage gain stage doubles the rate of response from the speaker output stage. The second gain stage transistors are maximised by removing the need for shielding by a cascode stage transistor. Eliminating the cascode results in a lowered need for amplifier stabilisation which doubles the slew rate and enhances sound quality.
Class A
SUPERNAIT 3 has a Class A preamp output stage which works as a headphone amplifier, ceramic heatsink technology reducing capacitive coupling between chassis and output transistors for peak sound quality. Its inputs are each individually decoupled and hand-wired to minimise noise and interference while internal switching employs ultra-low-noise, constant current sources which are derived directly from the electronic design of the flagship NAC 552 preamplifier.
Gain Stage
The phono circuit topology consists of the gain, passive EQ and active EQ stages. This enables great noise performance, extended RIAA equalisation surpassing the audio band and ample overload headroom. All RIAA eq capacitors are ‘through-hole’ affixed film structures, with low microphonic pickup and high transient performance. Phono stages are 1000x more sensitive than other inputs, massively benefiting the sound quality. The gain is ideal for 5mV moving magnet cartridges.
