Product Description
Ortofon 2M Black moving magnet (MM) phono cartridge is the flagship model in Ortofon's 2M range and features a finely polished nude Shibata diamond tip stylus. The stylus is constructed from Noryl resin. The Ortofon Black has an excellent frequency response and an amazing reproduction quality. The 2M Black is easily one of the best all round moving magnet cartridges we have ever heard.
Developed in conjunction with Danish designer 'MøllerJensen Design', who designed the award winning flagship Jubilee and the Kontrapunkt cartridges. This cartridge is future-proofed by virtue of being able to replace the stylus and the body is fitted with tapped screw threads, so you attach the cartridge with a screw, rather than having to fiddle around with tiny nuts and bolts. The result of Ortofon design choices is to give audiophiles excellent acoustic performance from their turntable, for an unbeatable value for money.
Resembling the Ortofon Rondo and Ortofon Cadenza ranges, the Ortofon 2M range is based around an entry level model, the Red, the next step up is the Blue, followed by Bronze and finally the flagship model is Black.
