This cartridge digs deep into the groove bypassing surface noise and not emphasising or distorting high frequencies. Shibata profiles can sound warmer but is it faithful to the groove? There has to be a reason why microline styli last longer than other stylus profiles and it is because they more closely resemble the record cutting head and are thus subject to less wear on the record as well as the stylus. They are more critical in terms of alignment, azimuth, tracking angle though than shibata styli so correct set up is essential.
Still if you want to hear all that is on your discs…………?
