Product Description
Ortofon MC Anna is the flagship moving coil phono cartridge from analogue supremo Ortofon and represents the highest echelon of vinyl replay possible today. This state of the art design, representative of numerous Ortofon design elements and ideals, is truly exemplary of the highest degree of performance possible in contemporary analogue playback technology.
Story behind the MC Anna
Ortofon has a tradition of paying tribute to influential individuals from the high-end audio, music, culture, or history in general. To honour remarkable people, Ortofon has introduced products to commemorate and celebrate these individuals throughout the years, including the SPU Meister, MC Rohmann, Kontrapunkt BACH and Windfeld cartridges. In the current range, this cartridge sits above the Ortofon 2M range, Ortofon Rondo range and Ortofon Cadenza range.
Ortofon continue their naming tradition with the MC Anna phono cartridge, dedicated the opera singer Anna Netrebko, a virtuoso whose performances display technical ability and endless versatility. With this flagship cartridge, the MC Anna, Ortofon show their continual commitment to music reproduction and the pure delivery of recorded signals. Much like Anna Netrebko, Ortofon aspires to provide the ultimate musical experience through a mixture of innovation and technical expertise, combined with inspiration that goes beyond mere thought to reveal true inner emotion.
Flexibility, performance and compatibility
With a low-to-medium output voltage (0.2 mV) and an output impedance of 6 ohm, makes the MC Anna a perfect partner for most Moving Coil phono pre-amplifiers and step-up transformers, including Ortofon's new ST-80 SE.
Ortofon’s MC Anna focuses on providing music in its entirety without compromise, offering an ideal balance of precision and musicality to provide an engaging experience on a whole new level. With their focus on micro and macro dynamics combined with fluid tonality and texture, the MC Anna will set a precedence in vinyl reproduction.
Considering Ortofon’s world-class knowledge in analogue sound reproduction, the new MC Anna will undoubtedly provide sound which is literally unsurpassed and simply has to be experienced.
