Product Description
Pathos’ Kratos is a hybrid-integrated amplifier with a tube pre-stage and a Mosfet power stage. The two stages are both separated with a pre-out and direct input to the final stage, have 200W per channel and are both balanced.
This powerful unit is housed in a vintage style casing with the choice of black or padouk wood finishes for the front wood panel.
Inspired Kratos Design
The Kratos design is inspired by Pathos’ hybrid integrated amplifier; Logos, which is one of Pathos’ most successful products. However, the similarities stop there. Kratos has new technical solutions that make it the leading-edge-product in non-InPol amplifiers.
Kratos Hybrid Technology
Kratos’ class A pre-amp circuit uses Tung-Sol ECC803s tubes, which sound warm, deep and musical. The power Mosfet stage in class AB is strongly polarized in class A; it has great power both at 8 and 4 Ohms that makes Pathos’ Kratos able to drive any loudspeaker.
This hybrid technology allows you to get a ‘tube’ sound into speakers that otherwise aren't tube friendly or which would require more tube power than you can afford.
Optional HiDac Mk2 Upgrade
The Kratos could be improved with the optional upgrade of Pathos’ HiDac Mk2 digital to analogue converter. It will make the Kratos able to receive all your music from your PC by USB or from a digital source by S/PDIF. The HiDac mk2 delivers performances at 32 bit and 384 KHz due to mk2’s ESS 9018 k converter, making digital sound incredible.
Kratos’ Accessibility
Kratos’ inputs include 5 unbalanced RCA’s and 2 balanced XLR and 1 balanced XLR that goes direct into the power amp. It is also a headphone amplifier with a dedicated circuitry (2 W @ 32 Ω). And like many of Pathos’s models the Kratos is also remote-controlled.
