Product Description
A reference-class Digital-to-Analog converter, the Pro-Ject DAC Box RS suits all types of digital stereo sound sources. Acting as a superior USB audio interface for demanding computer audio, it also features AES/EBU input and I²S interface for use with CD Box RS.
Audio Grade DAC
Incorporating a pair of the best audio-grade DAC chips, PCM 1792, found in only prestigious and high-end designs, the Pro-Ject DAC Box RS features 2 different selectable digital filter settings to best suit your sound preferences. Full DSD capability, up to DSD128, is provided over PCM for the engaged audiophile. Each input fully supports 24/192kHz HD music data in fully asynchronous mode.
Tubes and Solid State
Purpose built for the ultimate audio experience, Pro-Ject realised the output stage technology is dependent on your taste and type of music. Instead of choosing between more warm and relaxed sound with Tubes or Solid State Class A with limitless details and dynamics, the DAC Box RS has both options to select.
Circuitry Engineering
The entire audio circuity is engineered to be ultra low noise. It is ultra linear with very low output impedence to prevent negative interference from cables or pre-amps. With its class-leading audio performance, the Pro-Ject Dac Box RS is a complete high-end bargain.

Press Reviews
- "With the ‘Optimum’ filter selected and the solid state output in use, the Pro-Ject manages to please the panel without quite going that extra last step and wholeheartedly enthralling them." (HiFi Choice Magazine January 2016)
- "The DAC Box RS manages to combine refinement and a sense of drive in a way that ensures that it doesn’t become overly bright or fatiguing while also not being soporific." (HiFi Choice Magazine January 2016)
- "If you have a great many digital sources and you enjoy tweaking, look no further... The DAC Box RS might be the most expensive model in this test but the extremely strong performance coupled with its impressively extensive specification and the added promise of upgradeability further down the line is enough to ensure that it more than holds its own" (HiFi Choice Magazine January 2016)
- "LIKE: Refined yet entertaining performance excellent spec and build; DISLIKE: Lacks a little trace of excitement; high price; WE SAY: A clever DAC that offers an extensive feature set and great performance" (HiFi Choice Magazine January 2016)
