Product Description
Pro-Ject Speed Box S2, featuring electronic motor control and speed change, upgrades to best possible turntable performance with convenient speed changeover through keypress.
A very useful accessory for many Pro-Ject turntables, that do not offer a built-in electronic speed change. The Speed Box S2 performs this change by the push of a button between 33 and 45rpm. The quartz regulation and filter circuit gives a far better speed stability for smooth and undisturbed motor operation.
Please Note:
Speed Box S2 will not work with newer Pro-Ject turntables that feature a DC power supply. It will only work with older AC powered turntables that feature an external 16V power supply and do not already have built-in speed control.
Speed Box S2 should not be used with the following turntables: Debut III E, Debut II Phono USB, Debut Carbon (all non-US versions), Essential Phono USB, Juke Box (all types), 1-Xpression III Comfort, X-tension (all types).

Up until today I had to remove the turntable from the spindle and manually move the drive belt from one pulley to the other. Not any more. The S2 Speed Box is literally 'plug'n'play' - remove the power cable from the turntable (mine is an RPM 4), plug in the Speed Box and plug the Speed Box into the wall. And that's it! The speed is correct for both 33 and 45 rpm (I checked with a strobe) and, funnily, the sound seems more punchy. Thanks Audio Affair (and Pro-Ject) for this. I will certainly be buying from you in the future.
