Product Description
The PS Audio Stellar Gold DAC is part of the new Stellar Gold range, a higher range of hi-fi separates over the standard Stellar models. Stellar Gold DAC follows on from the Directstream DAC MkII and although it isn't quite as good as its bigger brother, shares some of the technologies and experience PS Audio gained from the flagship model.
Unlike most DACs, the Stellar Gold DAC features four DAC chips per channel that operate in series. These are combined and averaged out for the resulting sound and the resulting sound benefits from this design are quite remarkable. It has a different sound to the DirectStream Mk2 but our assessment is that sonically it is a very close second.
