Pro-Ject's Leather-It is a luxury leather turntable mat, designed to offer a better playback surface than their standard felt or cork mats. With a high friction smooth surface, the Leather It mat reduces vibrations for better sound quality and adds a touch of extra class to any turntable. Available in black (grey is now discontinued).
Fitting over the centre spindle, the mat sits comfortably on a 12" platter and improves performance by reducing vibration transfer to the playing surface. This allows your cartridge to deliver a more stable high-fidelity performance. The high-friction but smooth surface also allows for fluid record rotation with minimal slip.
The thickness may reduce the possibility of using an existing record clamp.
Please Note: Leather-IT in black has a matte suede effect on both sides. Leather-IT in silver has a shiny finish on one side and a rough leather finish on the other.

I bought this to replace the standard felt mat that came with the Pro-ject Debut Evo to get rid of static issues. The mat arrived promptly, has a nice natural feel (like suede) and to my amateur ear also improves the dynamic range of of the Debut - everything sounds a bit more ‘live’.
