Product Description
Originally designed by Sumiko as a celebration of music, the current Sumiko Celebration 40 Phono Cartridge celebrates 40 years of Sumiko. The 40 Phono Cartridge is an updated, refined spin on the award winning Pearwoord Celebration II.
Sumikos Classic Design Elements with an Updated Addition
The phono cartridge still has all of the classic design elements - long grain boron cantilever, milled teflon backplate and the unchanged MC generator are anchored to Sumikos anti-resonant cradle made with machined aluminium. However, the Celebration 40 has integrated the robust ultra low mass Microridge stylus that is usually found in the Palo Santos Presentation and In doing so the spatiality and micro detail in the audio has been enhanced to a remarkable degree.
Unrivalled Warmth without Compromising Clarity
Simply put, the resulting sound is warm and ample and foregoes all analytical, harsh frequencies without losing any clarity. Enjoy hours of blissful listening, as with the Celebration II, the Celebration 40 will show no sign of fatigue or waning.
Body and Design
The body has been crafted from magnificent plumwood, selected for its specific resonance attributes and embodiment of the Celebration design spirit. The front face of the housing has been modified to make the entire cantilever visible whilst in setup. The pre-amp features are nearly identical to the Sumiko Celebration II. The cartridge will display its peak performance when used within the specified VTF and loading ranges, but that is not to say you shouldn’t experiment in order to find that personal sweet spot!
