SVS Prime Centre Speaker features premium grade drivers and complex SoundMatch three-way crossover to the extra-thick baffle, internal bracing and FEA optimized tweeter diffuser which drives its performance into unknown territory for a center speaker at its price.
SVS Prime Design
As center speakers process most audio content including dialogue and vocals, SVS engineered a very light and rigid polypropylene cone for the speaker’s mid-range driver to provide a flat frequency response and to generate the SPL necessary for incredible in-room dynamics and a broad soundstage. The mid-range driver is housed in its own sub-enclosure within the cabinet to prevent modulation from the robust woofers.
The 1" aluminum dome tweeter is light, efficient and robust, playing crystal clear at high volumes for a sense of total transparency while offering an ‘airy’ presentation and stunningly unveiled highs so female vocals and dialogue always sound crisp, level and clear. The potent 5.25" woofers are built on an all-new cast ABS-fiberglass composite basket for accurate component alignment and an inert frame without resonances or added harmonics.
Crossover Design
Providing the ideal balanced voicing for the Prime Center speaker is a patented SVS SoundMatch crossover that sports high-grade capacitors, air-core inductors and heavy-trace printed circuit boards. This fusion of high-quality components acheives lower distortion, tighter tolerances and better sound for the critical, dialogue and action-focused soundstage. The 3-way crossover is tuned so each driver blends together while offering great on and off-axis response and pinpoint spatial imaging.
Performance Driven
Tapered edges lower edge diffraction for clean and precise soundstaging. The cabinet’s presence is large but doesn't take over a room visually and has a modern industrial feel with enhancements like shorting rings and a tweeter diffuser; all packed into an attractive cabinet in stunning piano gloss black or premium black ash finish.
