Triangle Borea BR03-BT active speakers are a versatile all-in-one solution for your audio needs. They look like traditional speakers but pack in a lot of features. Connectivity is good with a dedicated phono input for a turntable. You can also connect your TV via a digital optical input. Next streaming is no problem with a hi-res aptX Bluetooth connection. Finally, a powerful class D, 60w per channel amplifier, will fill any room with sound.
High-Quality Design
The Borea BR03 BT’s cabinet is made of high-density wood and uses the latest Triangle drivers. The Borea range is a development of the Esprit Ez series. Consequently, the range has all of the acoustic and technological innovations from the Ez series. The Borea range of speakers uses the Triangle-developed DVAS system or Driver Vibration Absorption System. A high-density foam gasket is placed at the end of each internal baffle. This ensures perfect contact is maintained between the driver and the bracing. In this way vibration from the driver does not enter the cabinet. The result is a high degree of neutrality and clarity. Finally, the cabinet is decoupled from any surface it stands on, by the use of rubber pads.
Innovative Tweeters
New development's in tweeter manufacture have created a unit that has a low directivity factor. This means that high frequencies can be heard wherever you are in the room. Known as EFS or efficient Flow System, this uses a 25mm silk dome for neutrality covered by a phasing piece that helps with the distribution of high frequencies. Other features include a powerful neodymium magnet that has a large magnetic field for it’s size. It also has a heatsink so that the tweeter can handle more input power.
Mid Range with Low Colouring
The mid-range unit is made of natural cellulose to avoid any colouring of the sound. As a result voices are reproduced with realism and a characteristic grain that has a beautiful sound. Additionally, the profile of the membrane has been improved to make it more rigid and improve it’s frequency response.
Punchy Bass with Glass Fibre Membranes
Triangle bass drivers are made of glass fibre for strength and to give controlled reproduction. Along with a specially optimised cabinet, this results in punchy bass and well controlled rhythm. Fibre glass can withstand a high impact force without buckling and changing the vocal register.
Versatile Connectivity
You can directly connect a moving magnet turntable without the need for a pre-amp. There is also an optical input for a TV or other digital source. Additionally, there is a sub-woofer output and Bluetooth connectivity. The BT connection can stream hi-res audio via aptX.
Powerful Class D Amplifier
The power amplifier is class D with a power of 60 watts per channel. Class D amplifiers are 90% efficient and generate little heat. The frequency range is wide, from 47Hz to 22kHz.
Easy Control
A remote control is provided with a range of 15 metres, regardless of walls furniture or other obstructions. Additionally, the unit comes with a power lead and a 3m speaker cable to connect the passive speaker to the main unit.
