Product Description
Wharfedale Diamond 12.3 is the more compact floorstanding speaker in the series which retains the accuracy and musicality of the smaller standmount models. The refined presence and power make this an affordable option for an impressive stereo hi-fi system or at the front of a home cinema surround sound set up.
The 2.5 way configuration coupled with excellent crossover technology enables the Diamond 12.3 to employ two 5" Klarity drivers for powerful yet controlled mid-range and bass frequencies. The 25mm dome tweeter compliments this through delivering spacious high frequencies that are extended smoothly.
Diamond 12 Series
The Diamond 12 series showcases affordable genuine hi-fi loudspeakers that capture the spirit of music whether you choose to listen to rock, classical, jazz or electronica whilst precisely reproducing the recording. Made in collaboration with a leading loudspeaker designer; Karl-Heinz Fink, the Diamond 12 has a modern industrial design that is still distinctly Wharfedale and excellent acoustic design and engineering that makes it a new ‘budget’ benchmark.
Wharfedale Klarity Driver
The Klarity cone is fitted with a low-damping surround to acheive low colouration, expressive dynamics and a flat response curve. The new cone material fuses Polypropylene and mica to reinforce the rigidity allowing for a lightweight cone with low colouration and super fast response.

Motor System
There is minimal distortion and intermodulation caused by the motor system due to an aluminium compensation ring being used within the precision made magnet system to counter the effects of variation in inductance. The voice coil is wound on an epoxy/glass fibre bobbin which delivers greater power handling and is much stiffer than the Kapton type bobbins.
Crystal Clear Highs
Smoothly extended and open highs are acheived by the 25mm tweeter dome which incorporates a woven polyester film with high-loss coating. For dispersion and uncompressed sound, the magnet structure is designed to deliver best performance and the flat front plate reveals as much of the dome as possible to balance the acoustic load and enhance the sound pressure level.
LKR 24dB topology
The LKR 24dB topology employed in the crossover network includes high-end air-core inductors that produce least distortion. The higher resistance of the coil, compared to laminated steel or ferrite core inductors, is balanced by the mid/bass driver's magnetic system resulting in fast and clean bass that is free from inductor distortion.
Intelligent Spot Bracing
Intelligent Spot Bracing links parallel walls with a specific wood brace for optimal reduction of cabinet resonance. These are precisely modelled by computer simulation to upgrade the standard ‘figure of eight’ brace which can transfer resonance between walls.

Rear Ported Enclosure
The dimensions of the Diamond 12.3's rear-ported enclosure were deliberately chosen to create the best internal volume for the drive units to acheive superior acoustics. A multi-layered sandwich design reduces the cabinet’s sound characteristics and even the glue's resonant properties were considered to identify the optimum blend.
