Product Description
Wharfedale Diamond 12.C Centre Channel Speaker brings cinematic vocals and depth to a Diamond 12 series home theatre system. Designed as the perfect companion to the standmount and floorstanding models in the series, the Diamond 12.C is compact, accurate and powerful. The centre speaker uses twin 5" Klarity drivers for precise and fine-tuned mid-range and bass while the 1" tweeter extends the open highs smoothly for greater detail and depth from your music and movies.
Low-damping surround
Klarity cone delivers low colouration and dynamic sound thanks to the flat response curve they manage to achieve without needing a high-damping surround. The PP and mica cone material reduces flexing supporting a lightweight cone with high rigidity, low colouration and rapid response.
Beyond its class
The epoxy/glass fibre-wound voice coil delivers greater power handling and is stiffer than other types in its class. A precise magnet structure with aluminium compensation ring minimises the effect of inductance variations as the voice coil travels, preventing the motor system from creating distortion and intermodulation.
Immaculate highs
The 25mm dome's woven polyester film and high-loss coating deliver an open and smoothly extended high frequency spectrum. The magnet system and the front plate are optimised for wide and uncompressed dispersion. The flat front exposes as much as possible of the dome and a very short duct on the front plate balances the acoustic load to boost SPL.
Air-Core Inductors
The crossover network uses an acoustic LKR twenty four decibal topology with premium air-core inductors chosen for lowest production of distortion. The magnetic structure of the mid/bass driver compensates for the higher resistance of the coil (compared to standard laminated steel or ferrite core inductors) resulting in fast, clean and distortion-free bass.
Internal Cabinet Volume
Diamond 12.C's rear-ported enclosure is deliberately sized so the internal volume optimally compliments the drive unit system. A multi-tiered sandwich design dampens the distinctive characteristics of the cabinet’s ‘sound’.
Precision-modelled bracing
Intelligent Spot Bracing links parallel walls within the cabinet using a specific wood brace to reduce cabinet resonance. This brace is accurately computer generated to upgrade the regular "figure of eight" structures.
