High Quality Bluetooth

The Bluetooth built into the HD6 powered speakers features aptX HD coding which is an advanced Bluetooth audio codec with very impressive sound. And even if your phone or tablet does not have aptX HD, the HD6 Bluetooth solution is backwards-compatible with SBC and AAC codecs, as well as standard aptX, so you can wirelessly stream music from any Bluetooth-enabled device and still enjoy all your music. Wireless range

Most Bluetooth devices have a very limited range typically confined to one room. Through careful signal management circuitry and antenna tuning, HD6 is a superior multi-room solution with up to 3 times the range of standard Bluetooth with no loss in audio quality.

24-bit DAC

HD6 uses AKM AK4396A DAC, known for its low-noise and high-fidelity. The optical input enables use as a bit-perfect 24-bit DAC processing sample rates up to 192kHz natively. For Bluetooth, AK4396A works as an upsampling DAC to 24-bits, gaining a higher signal-to-noise ratio and lower noise floor. This along with the onboard triple redundancy power source conversion and filtering, means HD6 Bluetooth presents impressive low noise and distortion.

Amplifier Design

The amplifiers are located in the left speaker, conservatively-rated class A/B analogue monoblock design and provide exceptional quality and greater flexibility. All circuit boards for the power/preamp sections are vertically mounted for optimum mechanical shock shielding.

Driver Design

Audiophile-grade, ferrofluid-cooled silk dome tweeters are employed with neodymium magnets. These efficiently endure high power while the edge-driven design lends a smooth response. The aramid fiber woven glass composite woofers with rubber surrounds retain their shape when driven at high levels. The woofers are enclosed in cast aluminum frames which deliver high rigidity and improved heat dispersion.

Power Transformers

Crucial to high-quality audio specifically in the low-end, the power transformers do not use off-the-shelf parts. The gapless core toroidal transformers have a tighter radiated magnetic field resulting in lower noise. They are more lightweight than conventional, low-cost transformers and produce less heat.
